Main compartment: holds my macbook, clipboard, quick reference mini paperback books, a folder, stethoscope, charger and wallet all in the main compartment (plus an apple but at that point it can be a tight fit); lotion, tissues, sanitizer, pens, little pocket notebooks etc in the larger of the two zippered compartments, then smaller miscellaneous items in the smaller zippered compartment). There is an inner padded-mesh zipper pocket seperating the main compartment into two segments which is great for tablets (and for concealing feminine products or more securely stashing your wallet) Not frequently shown is one side zippered pocket with a mesh expander that easily fits a small camelbak water bottle and will fit a regular camelbak water bottle... it will just be a bit snug. This pocket is also an excellent easy access secure pocket when not carrying a water bottle or insulated travel/coffee mug). The pocket on the flap holds my phone, ID badge, headphones, and chapstick easily.
The shoulder strap has PLENTY of webbing unless you like your bag down by your calves (and I'm 5'9''). Also comfortable for across the chest. Super easy clasp for on the go adjustments. There are little rubber "grippies" on the padded strap which are great for traction with winter jackets... but these rubbed off within a few months of use (like I said... I used this bag heavily).
The velcro flap attachment is nice in that it is not one strip across the bottom (which would make it useless for larger loads where the flap doesn't reach the bottom of the bag, as is the case in some bags). It is actually a triangular-ish velcro that accomodates for multiple sized loads and holds fantastically, even after this long. The velcro also isn't nearly as loud as on some other bags (a plus when I was in the classroom). The plastic clasps have quite a range on them (allowing for expansion with large loads and compression with small ones) and have held up beautifully. The padded handle on the top is a must for on-the-go situations. Good quality zippers with "softer" pulls that don't tear and don't scratch belongings.
The bag, unless loaded unevenly, will generally stay upright when on the ground - a big plus esp in winter seasons. For sizing - perfect for the a slender girl while still providing plenty of space. AND it fits upright under the seat in front of you on planes - allowing you to keep your bag close but still giving you some foot room! Fits nicely around desks in classrooms and you aren't taking people out with your bag on subways/public transportation.
My only complaints are: 1) a little small for my 12+ hour shifts when I wish it would hold a few more snacks/change of scrubs etc (I just bring an extra bag at that point). 2) the inner waterproofing lining between the main compartment and larger zippered compartment has started to rub off over time. Still useable but it definitely is showing the wear and tear I have put on it - BUT that is the only part of the bag that hasn't held up.
It appears to be well made, yet it's also very light weight for it's size. The handle on the top of the bag is padded, as is the shoulder strap, *and* the shoulder strap even has a rubber Osprey logo on the underside of the part that goes over your shoulder. You know that that means? It will grip to your clothes or jacket and not slip off your shoulder like most other bags. The color is just as pictured, and the design is pretty. I use it for my 2013 15" macbook pro, and it fits like a glove.
I bought this when I was extremely low on money and concerned about spending any of it, and was debating between this bag and a bag that was $25 cheaper. I am so glad I bit the bullet and bough this one instead. This very well may be the best bag of any kind I have ever owned. If you are hemming and hawing over the perfect laptop bag, buy this one. Seriously. You won't be disappointed. (And no, I have no connection to the company, I just love singing the praises of an awesome, well designed product that others will love too).
