Not going to lie, the fancy pack is nice but it doesn't make your child weigh any less. My daughter is 11 months old and weighs ~20 pounds. With her, hydration bladder, and other stuff, the entire thing felt really heavy. I took this on a 3 mi hike with 1000 ft elevation gain. Even though the pack itself felt heavy, I didn't feel any pressure point on my back or shoulders. My only complaint is that I felt like I was leaning more forward than I would like. I had to adjust my posture a lot to make sure I didn't lean so much. Would everything feel even better if I could get the torso to adjust and stay on XS? Who knows. I have a history of back pain and I didn't feel like I carried 30+ pounds the next day so I'd definitely recommend this pack.
My daughter loves the foot straps so she can somewhat stand up if she is getting uncomfortable and adjust her weight.
I love the large area for my camel pack. It holds 2 liters and still fits in there and is easy to share with my daughter so I don't have to stop to get her a drink.
I am glad to say this pack is well worth the money. I can comfortably hike 12 miles with it. Also this is one of the most awesome looking child carriers out there. I honestly have nothing negative to say about it. I'll update if anything comes up but I strongly doubt anything negative will it is probably more likely I'd update with other things I like about this carrier.
Child carriers will always balance the weight higher and further away from the body than a regular backpacking pack but I think Osprey's effort mitigates this better than most.
I also use an Osprey Atmos 65 AG when backpacking and think the AG system is the best thing to happen to hauling heavy loads, especially in summer conditions.
I found the Poco AG Plus to be the best value since my partner and I usually split hauling duties and carry an additional pack with water / jackets / snacks already. Paying more for the Poco Premium with a zip off pack and the extra bulk/ weight didn't really feel worthwhile and the Poco AG base pack lacks the fit on the fly waist adjustments and storage pockets needed to keep the little one happy on the long hauls.
