This blender is super-simple to operate: it has two speeds, which are really all I need. I'm not doing any gourmet cooking in which I need to julienne anything, I don't need to slice things in various thicknesses that I can't do more effectively with a simple kitchen knife, and I certainly am not trying to take up a catering business. I need to crush ice, and occasionally puree something for a mix - that's the extent of it. This blender does both exceptionally well with no muss, no fuss.
It doesn't overheat when used for a minute or two, and the blades hold up under a LOT of ice crushing. The 6 cup glass jar is more than sufficient for the amount of cooking I do, as well. I'm not cooking for a huge family, so this definitely does the trick.
The retro-looking stainless steel "Beehive" is also a very welcome addition to my kitchen that is similarly-decorated. I get a lot of compliments on this simplistic, retro-style blender, and I'm always referring people to Amazon to get one for themselves. The few that have rave about it as much as I do, stating they couldn't be happier with this particular blender than ones they have that cost several hundred dollars more.
I've since moved my blender off the appliance table that sits under a kitchen window; while I would if I had to, I certainly don't want to have to buy a third one of these. ;-)
