Whether cooking a pot roast at home for the family or traipsing across town to a potluck, this portable roaster oven by the Oster brand offers a variety of conveniences for the everyday chef. Use it as an energy-efficient alternative to turning on the full-size oven, or as extra cooking space during the holidays. The unit's generous interior provides a roomy 18-quart capacity-large enough, in fact, to accommodate an 18-pound turkey. It does more than just roast, however-it works equally well for baking, cooking, and serving. The oven's secure-fitting lid helps trap in heat and moisture, while its lid rest allows for convenient access when it's time to stir or transfer food to an individual bowl or plate. The roaster oven also includes a removable steel rack to raise food up from the bottom. This sleek-looking roaster oven makes a wonderful addition to any busy kitchen. This Oster roaster oven has a one-year limited warranty.

However the skin didn't brown and just slid off the bird. I had to broil it for a few minutes in the oven. If it was a turkey during the holidays, I don't think I would be able to do so. It is not easy to carry around a whole turkey and broil it, while there are pies and biscuits in the oven.
The part I liked the best about this roaster is the buffet feature! This was the main reason I bought it. All regular buffet servers are just warming trays with some very small and shallow pans and clear plastic lids. This roaster had deeper pans that they are very sturdy and made of good material. The lid is not plastic either, which is good. I had rice, beans and chicken in each of the pans and nothing got stuck or got burnt. I kept the roaster at under 200 degrees.
The roaster is very light and easy to carry or put away in the far corner when you are not using it. Overall, for the price I can't complain really about anything other that the skin didn't brown. I will try to brown it before I cook it next time.
P.S. I also purchased Wolfgang Puck VersaCooker[...]. Which is more of a slow cooker, but you can use it as a roaster as well. It does not have buffet inserts, but the advantage of if is that you can brown the meat in there before you roast it or slow cook it, which you cannot do with this oaster roaster.
And it does brown meat and breads -- this is dependent upon the temperature and the cooking time, unfortunately you have to experiment and adjust the variables on a few occasions until you get the hang of it ie temp / time.
Also depending upon what you're cooking --adding a nonstick spray before cooking can ease cleanup later.
The number one thing is --you have to preheat the roaster for your desired cooking temperature.
In the summer when it's hotter I don't have to worry about adding heat to the kitchen the way an oven would.
The only thing I wish this roaster had is a timer.
I wholeheartedly recommend this roaster warmer,I wish we had purchased this sooner.
It did great! Although I was doing a relatively small bird, it was done in less time than I had estimated, and using a cooking bag (be careful to not let it touch the sides or bottom lest you end up with melted plastic like me!) produced a moist turkey that although not as brown as some other reviews have complained about, certainly looked appealing. (Others also complained about the lack of a "ready" light -- it's not that big of a deal.)
I'd recommend this product.
