New toasters don't compare to the old ones!

Just got this Oster toaster today, and because I just got rid of a Hamilton Beach toaster that I've had for only a year that never cooked evenly, I decided to try another toaster. This photo will show you my results; the toast on the left had been put in Frozen the toast on the right was just regular toasted. The settings for both were on low two and a half. Neither one, as you can see, turned out evenly. Not even close. I think I'm going to go to some thrift stores and look for an older model because I'm really beginning to think new models don't do as well probably because they're made with cheap materials. I'll be sending this one back. The manufacturers of these new toasters should be ashamed to put out such a trashy product.

This is a follow-up. When I went to return this toaster and get a printed return slip, it came back to me as ineligible for a return. I have submitted a request as to why this would be so. Since I bought it on Prime. Hopefully I will get an answer soon. This is so wrong. You might want to beware when ordering this product. Will let you know the end result.

Makes white bread brown, brown bread browner.

If you want to make white bread brown and brown bread browner - look no further. This toaster does it. The bread slots are a good size and wide enough to accommodate a sliced bagel very easily. The settings are nicely varied giving the lightest of light to a dark brown (near black) at the highest setting. I have not timed the toaster, but it seems to take no more or less time than I have become accustomed to in my past.

The bagel and frozen settings also work well and the cancel button is handy for those of us that like to check our work along the way to make sure we get the perfect Pantone color on our bread (7511 C).

A solid toaster. I selected this one in the hope that it would match my stainless steel kitchen, while it doesn't stand out or look out of place, none of the exterior of it is actually stainless steel.

Terrible consistency in toasting, the top heating wires provide almost no toasting so you either get a toasted bottom and white top or toasted top and burnt bottom. Have to flip toast/bagels in the middle of toasting to get an even toast.
I threw this out and bought a more expensive and much more consistent model.

Disappointing, even for the price.

At first, it worked well enough to our the price. But right after the warranty ran out, it developed very uneven toasting, top to bottom, on each side, and on each slice. But if I place the setting low enough, do a creative, upside-down, inside-out switcheroo and toast twice, I can balance this out a little and make do. Disappointing, when all it is is a hot, curved wire. Not rocket science.

Beware - Plastic Emitter - And its really Bad

I did my homework. I searched for the best rated toaster for the buck, and it didn’t deliver. When the toaster heats it emits a hideous scent of burnt plastic. Thought it would burn off after a couple toasts but it didn’t because the entire toaster housing that wraps around the toaster is made of plastic is the source. Find another toaster- I did.

Bought this as a gift for my husband. I have also used it myself. It toasts well and very quickly and the indicator knob does control the level of brownness well. Neither he nor I have figured out how to change the blue buttons on the front though (he tossed out the instructions before I could see them).

I'm in my early thirties! Technology shouldn't be this hard for me yet!

Most bread doesn't fit in this toaster, it doesn't toast evenly, looks nice enough. I had no idea that the numbers on the toaster were actually minutes, that's crazy right? Seriously though - If you buy a loaf of Milton's wheat bread, it won't fit in length-wise and it will stick out the top width-wise, if you are toasting wonder bread you are probably good to go. The lack of even toasting might be because I shove the bread in there...
