Inexpensive and easy, but you’ll have to replace more often

This blender is so great. Blends just like many other brands that would cost you hundreds of dollars. That being said, the food processor attachment broke. I repurchased after less than a year because it’s so good and inexpensive, thought I would give it another try. My brand new replacement processor just broke after only 2 uses. Oster customer service has failed to replace the exact model- sent me a cheaper blender and no food processor attachment. They are incredibly nice to work with, but not good at following through.

Before I purchased this blender/food processor, I did a lot of research and read the Amazon customer reviews. Some of the negative comments were silly, too loud, buttons too small, protein powder stuck to walls. I purchased the blender and am totally happy with it. I have used it to make salsa, yes I chopped the onions in it and they came out perfect. Tomatillos chopped equally well. I prepared to full blenders of tomatoes for canned tomato sauce (skin and all) and the blender did a great job of chopping the skins. As far as noise, nope! Buttons too small, I just use my reading glasses! Sticking to walls, rubber spatula works great. The only thing that caught me off guard was the chopping feature does start and stop on its own, which is normal and it should. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for a heavy duty blender.

Our old blender finally kicked the bucket after over 15 years of use and we just needed a cheapo replacement since we don't use it that often. When I purchased the Oster Pro 1200, it was on sale for $70 so it was a perfect blend of power (1200w), price ($70), and features (food processor).

We have only used the blender part and it is better than our old blender in every way. We have made fruit smoothies every day and it does an amazing job. Ice is no problem, this thing just destroys it in seconds. We aren't blender aficionado so for the basic stuff we need to blend, this thing is perfect and so far, very strong.

I can't believe what you get for the price. Maybe I've been living under a rock all this time but the features on it is everything we needed, I expected to pay over $150 for a blender this good.

Now to the only CON - Be very careful opening up the packaging.

When we opened the packaging, there is a food dicer blade attachment that has EXTREMELY RAZOR SHARP BLADES. There is cardboard packaging that covers the blade with bright warnings that it is very sharp. However, our packaging only had 1 blade covered, the other one slipped off somehow so I ended up cutting my hand without even realizing it. The blade was so sharp, I was unaware that I had cut myself until wife pointed out my hands were bleeding.

Stronger tape on the cardboard which covers the blades would prevent this, to a blender newbie like me.

I searched every website and read every good and bad reviews. Finally, I decided to get this Oster blender. Me and my husband are using both blender and food processor part almost everyday since we got it two weeks ago.
We followed the instructions for crushing ice or blending smoothies and since it has a powerful base we haven't had any issues and it works perfectly.
The food processor part is the main reason I chose this model. It's big enough for making doughs or chopping vegetables and it's powerful enough to chopp everything evenly. I really want to try to make nut butter with the food processor and believe it has the power to easily make a smooth nut butter.
So far I am really pleased with this product.

Decent blender, but no safety feature for motor

This blender blends greens, frozen fruit, and soups well, no lumps. It does tend to have seepage at the top when the container is full though. I need to cover it with a hand or paper towel to keep it from spurting all over our cabinets. Also, there is no safety feature for when the lid to the blender or processor is off. The motor will work with or without the lids on. This seems like a hazard to me, but we have no small children and I am the only who uses it.

Edit: Concerning the safety feature for the motor...the motor will work with or without the lid on, but it does not engage the blade at when the processor is being used. I haven't used it for the blender in a while since this review.

We use a blender just about every day and have gone through a few. This Oster Pro 1200 is the best we've found. The capacity is larger than most, which means there is room for more air in a smoothie or milkshake. Haven't tried the food processor yet. Only very, very slight negative is that I wish the jar were glass instead of plastic. Highly recommend.

After a year of scarce use, this food processor is already falling apart. It was a very poor designer decision to make the crucial parts from cheap plastic. The plastic washer in the center of the cutter disk has developed cracks that prevent it from functioning properly.

The jar stopped aligning correctly with the base after a month and a half of use. I contacted the manufacturer, and they asked me to return the whole unit for replacement. I returned the unit; it's almost 2 months, and I keep getting excuses and false promises, so I have requested a cash refund, and I hope I get it. If you are looking for a reputable company that honours their warranty and understand customer service, STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

I love that this is very light( not glass), and I won't to looking for a replacement pitcher any time soon!

There is a lot of room for everything I want to blend. The blades are super sharp, so be careful when cleaning.

It makes the perfect smoothies, coleslaw and blends my soups pretty well❤️
