Dean is Jack's younger brother and even though Dean isn't in the spotlight like Jack, he still gets to take part in his brother's fun and excitement. The brothers are extremely close due to family circumstances and I found it endearing how much they care for each other and will do anything to help the other one out. Dean is a very sweet guy who clearly has a thing for Cassie's best friend Melissa (aka Funsize). I love how the brothers seem to gossip like girls when talking about their relationships with their women. I got a big kick out of Melissa because I had forgotten how feisty she is and she is absolutely hilarious.
I also love the way the epilogue is told! It is cute and shows a bit of what happens in the future.
I have read and love all of Jenn Sterling's books and would highly recommend reading this one. However, if you haven't read the other Game series books, I would suggest reading those first since it gives a broader background into the story and everything that happens between Jack and Cassie as well as a bit into Dean and Melissa's story. Keep writing more books, Jenn Sterling!
This book was G-E-N-U-I-S. Reading Dean's POV was outstanding. J Sterling gave us a great view of Dean Carter. His opinions were so eye opening. His love and admiration for Jack really shined through in this book. I would have thought being Jack's younger brother would have felt like a pain. But not for Dean, he loved his brother with all his heart. When Jack hurt, Dean Hurt. Thanks for another great book
First of all this could possibly be my favorite Jenn Sterling book to date. Yep you read that right. FAVORITE! I've loved Dean for years and to get The Perfect Game from his POV was everything! Go ahead start your eye rolling, I know what you're thinking. But you need to stop! I know we all have our thoughts on alternative POV's but I can assure you that this is a story you haven't read yet. It follows the same time line as The Perfect Game. It starts at a frat party and ends in New York (kind of). Sure we get some of the same scenes but honestly it is so much more.
I can't tell you how many times I teared up reading this story. Because while we got Jack and Dean's relationship ship in previous books from ego driven Jack's pov this time around we truly get to see what is was like between the two of them. Jack is Dean's hero in every sense of the word. Dean is his brother's biggest fan. Always proud, always happy for him and always having his back. So to see the toll that this story as a whole took on Dean was a little more that my ticker could handle at times. We also get to see a different side of Jack. Despite his cocky, no ones gonna hurt me demeanor, Jack is a huge softy when it comes to his family. We may have gotten some glimpses of that previously but not to this extent so it's fun and emotional at times to experience. Add to that the way he feels about Cassie and I was giddy. I love that he loves Cassie like a sister. Dean just has the kindest heart and you want nothing more that for him to be happy.
I could probably go on for a lot longer. But I won't. What I will say is that I loved Gramps in this book. Every time he referred to Cassie as Kitten I smiled like a kid in a candy store. And as far as some of the scenes that made us hate Jack F'n Carter in TPG I think maybe we come away with a better understanding of his frame of mind and the hurt he was experiencing right along with Cassie. So overall if you're a fan of The Perfect Game series you won't want to miss this. Dean's pov will give you new perspective, maybe some tears and a lot more reasons to love the entire gang!
Dean being the younger brother to Jack always has his back but when he meets Cassie everything changes but as there story plays out we see how the relationship between him and Melissa starts and how right from the start Dean is totally smitten.
Not only is Dean there for Jack but you see how much he is there for Cassie as well he considers her a sister right from the beginning knowing Jack needs her just as much as himself, Gran and & Gramps need her in their family.
I loved everything about this series from
Book one but what I have to say is that this book seems to complete the story. If you are a person who loves romance, second chances and everything in between you will not only
Want to read this book but the whole series
