The Other Side of Someday tells the story of Courtney. Courtney and her fiance have been engaged for eight years, and he seems in no hurry to set a date. Courtney is working a clerical job until she can obtain employment in the field she has a degree in. She finds herself at work one day, facing a normal 8 hours, when she is terminated, accused of stealing from the company. When she arrives home early, she finds her fiance in bed with another woman. She immediately moves in with her mother, and breaks the engagement and relationship.

Bad luck follows her in that she not only ends up having to replace a tire, but finds that her bank has frozen her account for unusual activity and she cannot pay for the tire. The shop owner graciously allows her to leave with a promise to pay. When she goes back, she meets the owner's son, Clay.

Clay is helping at his dad's shop while his dad recuperates from surgery. His dad wants him to run the shop, but it's just not his thing. He works as an IT professional and makes good money developing websites. He has done some bad things in his past that ended a good friendship, and is now trying to do things in the right way.

There is an instant attraction with Courtney and Clay meet, and the story goes from there after he offers Courtney a job to answer phones and schedule appointments.

This was a book that was hard for me to put down. I liked the characters, I liked the flow of the story. It was one of those books where as you read it, and the characters get to know each other, and are drawn to each other - you feel it yourself. You feel yourself wanting that kiss. Wanting that touch. Then, when it happens, you sigh with happiness because you can almost feel that touch on your skin as well.

I absolutely LOVED The Other Side of Someday!!!! Carey has a way to pull you in right from page one. At 30 Courtney's life as she knows it kind of crumbles. A Lost job and a jerk fiance start that ball rolling. Then in walks Clay. Good Lord above! Sweet, sexy and swoon worthy Clay...I just could not get enough of him (Somebody find me a Clay!). Sparks fly, but like with any relationship there are a few highs and lows. The support they show each other is incredible. Do yourself a favor and follow their journey. Thank you Carey for an AMAZING book! :)

Ok so here’s the thing, if you know me you know that I love Carey Heywood to pieces! Hands down this was my favorite Carey Heywood book to date!

This was by far the hottest CH book I’ve read and if you have come to know her writing style as I have, you know she stepped way out of her comfort zone with this smokin baby!

Clay Bradshaw drew me into his world from the moment Courtney stepped into his fathers shop while he was helping his dad out when he got injured.

I cant seem to move on and have had to revisit many of my favorite “scenes” because I miss him already! He’s a dominate tender lover that will be the reason for many book boyfriend tug-of-wars.

Courtney Grayson has been burned and is in no hurry to jump into another relationship. She is determined to play the field so maybe Someday she will find a good guy. But she never new what hit her when Clay Bradshaw’s world got turned upside down the day Courtney walked into his dads shop. He was a man with a mission and found himself for the first time thinking of “the other side of SOMEDAY”.

This one surprised me. I have been reading a bunch of romantic tales and typically giving them threes and fours. Why did this one get a five?

What gave this one an edge was the well developed secondary characters who added some depth, to an otherwise sweet but formulaic romantic farce.

Something else I liked was that the lead female- Courtney has some gumption. Badly burned by infidelity she trust her heart and her instinct to give a new man a chance. A lot of people would let fear and bitterness take over and miss opportunities. Not only that she recognizes that all relationship need boundaries and even though she soon gives her body, and heart to Clay, but holds out for some personal space. Something she hadn't done in her previous relationship.

So it gets five stars for breaking the mold of this ilk of fiction.

Things that could have been better-

Sentence structure. The author writes in short, clipped sentences that in many cases could have been comma'd and strung together to make the verbiage flow a little better.

The sex got very graphic and repetitious, and in some cases bordered on pornographic. The unrestrained use of four-letter words was also a turn-off. The amount of bad language was excessive and gratuitous here. Be warned!

All in all a pretty decent tale that I enjoyed, comments above not-withstanding.

This story is just too young for me. The hero is 33 and the heroine 30. They both seemed awfully immature to me. I would have put them both in early 20s. I just couldn't get attached to either one. I do think they are perfect for each other. The heroine has the worst day of her life. Everything that can go wrong does, from getting fired, being accused of a crime she didn't commit, finds her boyfriend cheating, has a flat, etc. I almost gave up before I got past this part but stayed with it. After discovering her fiancée cheating in her own bed, she doesn't walk in on them and let them have it, at least verbally, she leaves a note with the ring and runs home.

Then she doesn't want anything out of the condo. Not even her clothes, toothbrush, etc. comes with her. Really? Would anyone give up everything they owned because he was cheating? So for days she stays in bed crying. She happens to meet the bachelor of the year at a bar and he seems to take a shine to her. Then she meets a guy in a garage helping out his dad. This is going to be our hero. At 33 he doesn't seem to be what you would think a 33 year old, owns his own business, etc. would be. Even his language was a turn off for me. He is going to the grocery store to buy "s***". It seemed that was every other word in his head. Just a turn off for me. I just couldn't get a handle on these two.

I think younger readers will relate more to it. Nothing wrong with the story, just wasn't for me.
