I'm no my third lamp, and each and every single one of them the on/off button has broken after less than a month.
It's not rocket science. This lamp is garbage. Avoid it.
The light cast has a very clean feel to my eyes. Not that yellowish look, but more like natural daylight which OttLite is known for.
Two things I would like to see different about this lamp:
1 - The power button should have a rounder or circle shape versus being oval, which makes it a bit uncomfortable to turn on/off.
2 - Elimination of any buzzing noise when the light is turned on. I can't tell if it's the light bulb or transformer. Kinda distracting when reading a book and you sit really close to it.
Overall I am really enjoying the lamp.
The not-so-good: 1) The lamps came in styrofoam packaging that was very difficult to pry off the lamp. I was afraid of breaking the lamp if I pulled it off the styrofoam backing, so I had to cut it out, which was time-consuming and annoying, not to mention the fact that if I had to return the lamp, I would no longer have the proper packaging for it. 2) One of the bulbs was defective. I called Ott and they told me that Amazon had to take care of it. I called Amazon, and they wanted me to return the whole lamp (remember my packaging issue?) instead of just sending me a new bulb!! After some back and forth, the Amazon supervisor offered a $5 coupon to buy a new bulb. The bulb cost more than $7, so I was out more than $2. The aggravation was not worth the time and the effort, so I agreed. I have no idea why Amazon just didn't offer a coupon equivalent to the bulb cost. 3) As with most of the other reviews, the On/Off button should really be redesigned. You need to press down hard on the button, which means you can't do it with one finger or else you push the lamp off the table. So you have to either hold with both hands or your hand has to be large enough to grab the whole base and press the button with your thumb. A simple toggle switch would have been a whole lot better! I can see why this button would break easily, so I am being extra careful with mine. Overall, I would probably not buy this lamp again for this reason.

This lamp is beautiful and looks really cool. It is much larger than I expected. I read a few reviews from customers that were dissatisfied with the power switch. Read morePublished 16 days ago by Kasey
Bought this a few years ago. The on/off switch is as bad as people are reporting. Mine finally got stuck in the off position and wouldn't turn back on. Read morePublished 2 months ago by Amazon Customer

I purchased this light to use as a table torchiere. The 15 watt bulb certainly is not as bright as a 60 watt would be. Read morePublished 5 months ago by Penny
I love this lamp! I like how you can extend/retract the metal tube that connects the tulip lamp part, which also allows me to point the lamp in any direction. Read morePublished 8 months ago by Erin C.
