Overall I like the OtterBox products, and if it weren't for the useless screen protector I would have given 4 stars.
Con: the only thing I can really say here is its thickness. It's more than I would like. It's pretty tight in my case now but I guess it goes with the territory (protection). This is the only thing I would hope Otterbox would address in the future.
The plastic and rubber material feels very sturdy and like it will endure some wear and tear. It gives the phone a more substantial feel, which is good because without the case, I nearly dropped it a few times. The case does add some bulk, but not too much; it's still very easy to slip in and out of my jeans' front pocket. The corners, sides and back are well-protected and the bevel around the front, while sturdy, is rubberized, to allow for some give, which makes it seem to me to add nice protection to the glass.
The only difficulties I encountered so far were fitting the phone into the case and the application of the screen protector. The case installation is actually quite difficult, but that's just because it fits so snugly. You just need to have a bit of patience and persistence. I actually had to remove the case once I got it on -- the case's volume buttons weren't properly aligned with the actual buttons -- and it was easier to install the 2nd time. And, the volume and power buttons do work just fine through the case's rubberized buttons once it's adjusted correctly.
The screen protector isn't difficult to apply, but like others have said, you will encounter a bit of bubbling. For me, the bubbles weren't too bad, and the few that appeared were easy to scrape out with the provided card -- except for one bubble at the bottom of the screen that's thin but extends across the width of the screen. It's only slightly annoying to me, though, because it's only noticeable when the phone is off or in sleep mode.
It's clear to me that the screen protector was specifically designed to fall short of the top of the screen where the front-facing camera is so as not to interfere with picture quality. That's why one end of the screen protector has square corners -- for the top -- and the other end has rounded corners -- for the bottom. So, it does fit just fine. You do feel the raised edge of the screen protector when you swipe down from the top of the device, but to me that's not an issue.
All things considered, I love this case and feel the protection, style and material substance it adds to the phone are well worth the price.
Good: Size, phone calls
Bad: coverings around headphone and charging port are annoying, but easy to remove. you have to press REALLY hard to push the volume or power button, this is my biggest gripe, simply waking up the phone is much harder with this case.
This case is about protection above all else, I have no fear about breaking my phone now. It increases the size by a noticeable amount, but it still feels fine in my pocket. The protectors for the headphone and charging ports are nice, but obtrusive if you use them a lot. I unplug and plug my headphones all the time, luckily it's easy to remove these covers with a scissor. I would recommomend only for someone who really needs protection, for commuters this is probably overkill
