Once I replaced my phone, I decided to spend good money on a good case. And I got it. I was very pleased that it has it's own attached screen protector so I wouldn't have to fiddle around with getting the stick on kind just right. Putting the case on is easy. Taking it off, not so much; though I take that as a good thing as it keeps people from trying to get to the inside of the phone. With the Otterbox Defender case my phone still is in good working order despite several drops on the floor and just as many retrievals by Duke.
If you, like me have a tendency to be hard on cell phones, whether by disability or whatever other reason, this is the one to get, and Amazon is the cheapest place to get it. This thing has saved me money as I haven't had to buy a new phone since I got it. It's well worth the price, and the bright color makes it easy to find.
We haven't broken a screen yet, so hopefully they pass that test. They do make the phones a LOT bigger, but that's to be expected. There is a slot across the top that has an enlarged area that the picture shows a camera lens behind; our three Moto G's have the camera lens on the opposite side, but it's centered on the slot & seems to work ok w/o the enlargement. And on the top flap, there is a hole about the diameter of a headphone jack lined up perfectly with the tiny reset button; one has to disgorge the flap to get to the headphone connector. I haven't had to press the reset button once, but I use the Moto G for both an FM radio & a MP3 player & that's lotta flap disgorging. OtterBox needs to do a running production change & get the enlargement lined up with the camera & headphone jack hole lined up with the headphone jack.
These are minor problems & all three of us would buy the Defenders again.
I bought this for Moto G 1st generation and it seems to be a good, quality case for the secondary phone I plan to take on a 360 mile trek. I did have to go on the internet to find out how to open the case, because despite the diagram on instructions, I could not figure it out. Tip - grab a credit card, or a small key-ring supermarket club card, and press in all the tabs, once it starts to separate you just lift the top off.
I want one of my own. I hope the price for the black one comes down soon.
