But that doesn't stop us from knowing the thoughts and feelings of its occupant.
The fun begins when it comes out of the box. I wish I could say more but I can't without spoiling it. All I will say is that you'll wish you had more when you're done.
I felt bad for "it " , like I wanted to protect it ,not even knowing what the heck "it " was.
Yolanda and Elizabeth kept me turning the pages with a huge case of Anxiety & Anticipation.
Would I regret wanting to know?
...no turning back now .
Otter was an oddball kind of character , the kind you take Pity on, but surely misjudge, they all were at one time or another , a pack of misfits you either love or hate, but somewhere along the line it all wound up going horribly wrong when they glanced upon "it" and that's when the twists in the story begin to bleed out onto the pages .
One of the good things about this book is that we not only got Otter's point of view, but we got whatever was inside the box's point of view as well. I'm not going to spoil anything, I'm just going to say it's well-worth the one click. I had no problem reading it in one night, because I couldn't put it down.
It's the first story I've read by both authors and I loved it. It will not be the last one that I read either.
From the very beginning this book grabs a hold of you and does not let go until the very last page. The whole time I was wondering what the hell was in the box and even after it was revealed I was still LIKE WHATTTTTT!!!! These two authors deliver so many twists and turns over one little unassuming box that you will be left reeling. Otter is very shy and quiet due to being browbeaten but is not to be underestimated.
"The monsters that lurk in the darkness are the same ones that walk in the day, only their masks are different"
This whole story is the definition of curiosity killing the cat and will leave you gasping at the horror of it all.
My feelings for almost all the charters would change with every chapter. The ones I loved at first, I hated by the end. The ones I hated I ended up feeling sorry for. And the box...I felt protective, sorry for and love and had no idea what it was! all I knew was I wanted to keep it away from anyone that wasn't going to love it.
The twists and turns of this story will have you reading from cover to cover. You will NEED to know what will happen next! Absolutely amazing book!
Otter is introduced to us as a simpleton, with simple needs. A product of his own tragic past and environment - but things are not always what they appear to be, and people are never that one-dimensional. Obsessed with his newest acquisition, Otter begins to discover the lengths he must reach in order to protect his precious, IT.
Enter the mysterious, IT. Alone and afraid, you want to comfort IT. Desperate for affection, you want to love IT. But most of all, you want to know, “What is, IT?”
IT. They all want IT. They all covet IT. Only one can ultimately have IT.
A riveting story that steals your breath, and your heart. Applause for Olson and Cash. I can't wait for their next twisted tale of terror.
