6 months later this rug really looks bad! I have it in my bedroom (not heavy traffic area) and I am already on the lookout for a new rug. I paid around 40.00 for it so I don't know that I totally expected it to hold up well but I do feel like it should have held up longer than 6-7 months.
I will say that the current going price of 78.00 ish, I would NEVER pay for the overall quality of this rug! When I first got it I was so thrilled (as can see), its colors and design is very nice but it looks like its 10 years old after 6 months.
I would definitely not recommend this to be used in a heavy traffic area for sure. If you do purchase this, just know it is not going to wear well or look that great in a fairly short amount of time. The rug fibers bunch together, the corners curl no matter what I do and the corner fibers are frayed (pulled loose, might be a better description) my guess is from weekly vacuuming. I gave 2 stars simply because it is color and design only.
*first impression review*
I must say I AM IN SHOCK!! I was so worried about ordering this rug the price was so low (40.00) that I thought for sure it would be a poor quality! It arrived today and OMG!! It is BEAUTIFUL!! It is a really nice rug that honestly should cost 300 or more. I can not tell you how pleased I am with this purchase!! I'll update the review as I use it to see how it holds up, but the first impression is its perfect!
I bought the grey 5x7 rug (rarely are rugs ever the exact measurement listed, mine was 6’11”, with the ripples flattened as best I could so there could be the extra inch once it fully relaxes with the width being 5’2”). The grey was exactly what I imagined. The weird square was the plastic wrap and vacuuming took care of it, it ran the length of the carpet. The inconsistant colors i see are like those new fad “mermaid pillows” or any carpet that has varying shades based on the direction of the knap. The carpet was tightly curled, I did have to place heavy things on one end while I vacuumed but again vacuuming took care of relaxing everything quite a bit and I’ve had it (from
Porch to review about 20 min). The smell? It smells like the new carpet chemical smell. A lil baking soda and/or fabreeze should do it, if I get bothered by it, which I’m not. It’s going into a nursery, so I’m paying attention. Also keep in mind the one I got was like $35! That’s super inexpensive! Really the last nursery rug I got was $100 from target and had a rocker sitting in it with very little traffic, and looks like junk now. I’m tempted to get another to replace the more expensive one. This thing is a steal. If you spent $35 and expected a wool oriental rug from the actual Orient, to last you a lifetime you’re NUTS. This thing is great!
