The first section discusses a Biblical description of human nature, then looks at what the Bible says about parenting, Biblical authority and discipline. Understanding these pillars of parenting is essential to loving your children through their sin. Through this book, I was able to see my children's rebellion as part of their sin nature and an affront to God instead of taking it personally and reacting as such.
The second section covers more practical questions about discipline, education, home worship and prayer. While it is not exhaustive, the principles taught apply to a wide range of situations and ages. This book has served my family well. I highly recommend it in addition to "Grace-Based Parenting" and "Shepherding a Child's Heart."
Sisemore also wrote World-Proof Your Kids: Raising Children Unstained by the World - completely different focus, but a much better and more useful book for most Christian parents.
