This is one of a series of books by the same author I have ordered from Amazon and read. This one did not disappoint. It offers the Old Testament, Hebrew, perspective on the matter of life and what happens at death. The Hebrew Bible, Old Testament, was the only sacred writings Jesus and the first apostles had. It was their only frame of reference for definitions and descriptions of spiritual reality. The Hebrew view represents what Jesus and his apostles believed and taught. The Hebrew view should therefore be the culture of reference for even modern Christians. However, the Hebrew view often is at odds with the modern Christian view.

Professor Buzzard offers the reasons for the Hebrew view and makes a very good pitch for adopting the Hebrew view of life after death for modern Christians. His view of the Hebrew's understanding on this topic does flow with scripture, even in the New Testament. It is well worth the read but only if you're open to examining this topic of the after life from a Hebrew perspective and can tolerate rethinking your own views.

Sir Anthony points out in his writings how the church has been misled for centuries. This book is a real eye opener...

Excellent work by a fine scholar. The name says it all in a catchy way. This is a well documented, biblically sound presentation on the state of the dead. As with all of Mr. Buzzard's books, they are thorough leaving little left to be said.
