“Perfect moments are the bananas of life.” Everything in the universe has to be lined up perfectly or you might miss your chance.
Logan spent two years at a Catholic high school before he was able to escape the strict rules and constant ridicule. He transferred to a public high school which came with its own set of problems. On his first day he met Annalise, the goddess of all things beautiful, when she helped him find his classroom after he had become terribly lost. Logan fell in love with Annalise that day but it took awhile for their paths to cross again so he could actually talk to her and get to know her. His best friend Pete couldn’t understand how he could be so crazy about a girl he didn’t really know, but Logan knew she would always be an important part of his life.
Logan never has much to look forward to at home, so his friendship with Pete and his infatuation with Annalise, keep him going and bring peace to his soul.
“Our Story” gives us a glimpse into Logan’s life and the friends who are so important to him. I hope everyone reads “Away From Here” because it is truly one of the best books I have ever read.
Oh, that first love feeling. You remember it right? The butterflies in your stomach, the sweaty palms, the tied up tongue that refuses to let you form even one coherent word? That first time you see that person and know, right then, that things are going to be different from that point forward.
This was such a cute prequel to Away From Here (which will be here soon!). We see, through Logan's eyes, his first glimpse of Annalise, of the first words they spoke to one another, and of how she made him feel.
We get this narrative from a grown up version of 16 year old Logan. It brings you the story through the eyes of wisdom and a heart that remembers the girl who helped form him. It's a great snippet to read.
Christopher has such a way with words. He knows just how to hit you in the feels, make you laugh, make you cry, and see the way the character sees. Truly inspiring. This is a young adult duet but trust me, it's for all of us. We were all Logan or Annalise at some point in our lives, and its a sweet trip back there.
This prequel and story is so well written. You just can’t help but love Logan.
You’ll need to read Away From Here to experience Logan and Annalise’s love story.

Christopher Harlan does an amazing job in setting the stage for his upcoming novel by introducing Logan and his background and how it plays into his character development. At a young age he is not only dealing with the divorce of his parents but the toll that mental illness has on his family-mainly his mother. You can already see that he has had to grow up pretty fast in light of these circumstances therefore we can imagine importance that Annalise has in his life and the light that she shines in the mist of the darkness that he deals with on a daily basis.
Reading this prequel I know that I will be in for quite an emotional read and can't wait to see what happens next!
