About the Author
Ray Morris worked for many years in advertising and after being made redundant he became a teacher in a secondary school. Ray’s love of education and a strong desire to write led him to begin his research into the Mary Rose and the mystery of how she sank. He explains: “I’ve always loved history and have lots of historic books at home, so it was natural for me to write about an historical event. “Over the years, I have read extensively about the Mary Rose, the flagship of Henry VIII’s fleet and his favourite ship and was intrigued about her sinking. Obviously, I wasn’t the only one and many people have come up with a variety of scenarios to explain what may have happened that day.” Over the years Ray has visited the Portsmouth location where the remains of the Mary Rose’s hull is now kept to learn more about her and began to develop his own ideas about what may have caused the ship to sink.
