All the stories in Out of the Gutter 8 that were previously published I've already read. I think they are great choices for the book. Great work by editors Matt Louis, Joe Clifford, Tom Pitts and Court Merrigan.
A Red-Headed Woman by Mr. Leek is a great read in his tradition of cheap-ass gum smacking red- neck tit-scratching whore lit.
Kid Louie by T. Fox Dunham is a classic dark tale of bloody family relations.
McRib Therapy Can Alleviate Seasonal Depression, by C.S. DeWildt -- this story is so sick and twisted and poetically beautiful that is matches that wild and weird title.
Daddy's Girl, by Nicola Murphy -- Fascinating story with a great twist at the end. perfect example of the Flash Fiction Offensive 1,000 word sensibility.
Cheated by Ryan Sayles is a short short short four paragraph tale of a crime in as few words as possible. Clever and satisfying.
Two Cowboys Settle a Dispute by Andrew Hilbert is hilarious and original. You have to read it there is no way to describe it.
Portrait of a Sister with Insects by Isaac Kirkman - This is poetic dark and perfectly chilling. I loved it.
Tourettes by Les Edgerton, The First One by Matthew C. Funk and To Mistress by Richie Narvaez are all just professional quality edgy dark story-telling. So great.
June by Jen Conley. There is something about Jen Conley's stories that just kills me. This one murdered me. Perfectly Sad.
Now, I just need to read the other new stories in the Digital Rage section (Just a Light Tap by Todd Mohr, You Outta Be in Pictures by Dana C. Kabel and Family Dynamics by Michael Bracken and The Dish Farm by David James Keaton). This is the section that includes my story Hot Cups.
Also, there is a non fiction piece I need to get to by David Corbett.
