This is the story of Finn and Carrie--and the struggles they face. I hope you enjoy their journey as much as I enjoyed writing it.

The book was average, but it had a cliffhanger, and I hate cliffhangers.
Why do we have so many cliffhangers all at once?? All the books I read has one. It is such a turn off when I have enjoyed the book and it gets to the end and you have a cliffhanger.
It also had editing issues that took away from the book.
Because of the above dislikes, I don't recommend this book.

Ohhh Finny, Finn, Finnnnn!!!

Sexy, broody, tattooed Marine and surfer boy- nuff said, right?! Right!

Oh boy, ladies. Do yourselves a favor and read this book, like, now. It would do your ovaries some good, promise.

Out of Line is the sweet story of Finn and Carrie, who meet by a chance encounter after a frat party. But is it really by chance? Carrie has always lived under the scrutiny and protection of her senator father. All she really wants is to enjoy college like a normal girl, without any celebrity to her name. When she meets Finn, a local surfer, she starts living life the way she's always wanted to, including giving love a chance. Thing is, some secrets are more powerful than love.

If you're thinking this story seems a bit trite because the main character is just trying to "spread her wings" so to speak, then stop right there! Carrie is nothing like other heroines who are "good girls" trying to shed their skin. No, no, no. Carrie knows exactly who she is. She's a good girl, with a moral compass set straight. The only thing that's stopping her from being comfortable with her life is the constant 24/7 protection from her father. Seriously, though Carrie is awesome. She has a heart of gold, through and through.

Then there's Finn.

Dear lord almighty in book heaven, thank you for giving us Finn Coram! I don't normally dig half-naked couples on book covers because I think they're overused, BUT even though I really like this cover- I wish it showed Finn in all his glory. The way he's described in the book will make your panties melt. Guaranteed. I mean, seriously. Somebody needs to invent a contraption where you input all of Finn's characteristics, and out he pops up. Mouthwateringly delicious.

Carrie has finally broken free from her father's hold over her. Sure she loves her family, but being the daughter of a state senator comes with security that follows you everywhere and a life without any fun involved. She even had three bodyguards following her when she went abroad for a year before deciding to attend college. Finally having enough, she did the only thing she could think of, go to school on the other side of the country and it's here that she finds herself in California.

Carrie has only been in California for two days when her roommate decides it's time to drag her to a party. Being a quiet reserved girl used to following all the rules set for her, Carrie has never been much of a party person so she finds herself outside in the dark on the beach alone. It's here that she finds herself face to face with a surfer named Finn Coram. By all appearances, Finn appears to be a college student who is soon to graduate and that's how he presents himself. But Finn is not a college student, he's a marine by day, surfer dude by night complete with tattoos and a motorcycle (YUM). But being a marine is not Finn's only job. His other job? Protect Carrie. You see, Carrie thinks that her father has finally let her go on her own but what she doesn't realize is that Finn is a spy who has been sent to make sure Carrie does everything she's suppose to do without getting hurt.

His job was only to protect her, all she wants is to break the rules for once in her life and what better way than with a man like Finn? The more Finn gets to know Carrie, the more he learns how wrong he was about her. Feelings develop, friendship forms and becomes longing, and lines are crossed and blurred as Finn finds himself more drawn to Carrie every single day.

I liked Finn--he was sweet but I absolutely hated the cliffhanger! Seriously authors cliffhangers take the joy out of reading the book and by the time the sequel comes out you've forgotten all about the first book anyway! I love a good long book with a happy ending and an epilogue to give you a glimpse into the H/h's happy ever after. I'm sick of cliffhangers....

WOW! What a story! Seriously, I couldn't put down Out of Line by Jen McLaughlin (aka Diana Alberts). What an amazing new adult story. I was captivated by the first page. I probably would have spent most of last night reading Out of Line, but sleep beckon. Once I awoke, Carrie and Finn were calling my name and I had to know what happen to them. I got half way through the story, I had to stop. Not because I wanted to, but I had obligations (sad face). Once I arrived home I couldn't put down the story and had to finish.

Well, y'all know that story is about a guy name Finn and gal name Carrie. Finn is the bodyguard to Carrie, but she doesn't know he's there to watch over her. Carrie believes he's just one hot guy who just happen to pop into her life. Well, Carrie has some over protective parents, and that is quite understandable since her father is a state senator. So, Carrie believes her father isn't meddling in her life. Sounds like this will get a bit complicated, especially when Finn starts falling for his assignment.

OH MY GOODNESS, I LOVE FINN. Seriously, he is like the best of both worlds. He's a tough guy and you wouldn't want to mess with him. Then he can be a sweet decent guy. To top it all off, he's smoking hot. Who doesn't love a guy with piercing blue eyes and dark hair with curls? With curls I tell you, yes, you may sigh. What more can you ask for? NOTHING, I TELL YOU, NOTHING! The more you get know Finn, you fall for the guy. I know I did.

Carrie is pretty awesome too. When Finn first meets Carrie, he has this impression of her being some snobby rich girl (by the way she's not). However, the misconception he built about her starts to tumble down as he gets to know her. I love Carrie, because I love that money can't buy you everything.
