Stars: 4.5 ☆☆☆☆.5 Warning: This book will not be for everyone it is a M/M genre so you have been warned. Now where do I start? I loved "Out In Time". There were a couple of places where I felt I just wish they could live there life out in the open. I do understand there are so many people not accepting of people being gay and their reasons for not wanting to be out of the closet. excerpt from the book " Being different and unaccepted comes with its own self-imposed hatred and denial, but when something like that gets out and you don't know how to handle it, all those demons can rise up and eat you alive from the inside out," how true! I do believe we do not choose our sexual orientation. Now I will get off my bandwagon and on with my review.

I really enjoyed Out In Time and found myself highlighting parts of this book so I wouldn't forget them. One of the parts that I highlighted was that Heath's mother writes "Shapeshifter Erotica" and that he said that his "mother basically writing porn between dragon shifters and unicorn shifters" I thought this was so funny because my own son tells me that I read housewife's porn. Which is basically what Heath's mother writes. (just a little side note). I was happy to see that Heath's family love him for who he is and that Wade still had to find himself and to let his family know that he isn't asexual but is actually homosexual.

I also loved Wade's "granny" he actually had come out to her when he was 17 and "granny" is quite a character. You will have to read that for yourself.

I would also like to say to Grey Cole that you are not a deviant! Well then maybe you are but, then there are so many others that are too and I would probably have to say I am too. I enjoyed this book, thank you!

This ARC was received for an honest review.

Heath and Wade's story was a perfect short and sweet romantic read. Both proving that stereotypes are often so far from the truth and that assumptions may keep you from your true forever.

Oh Wade- the perfect Southern gentleman! He is so close to everything he has worked his whole life for- NFL, finishing college and starting his career. Then there is Heath, snarky Northerner, who could not be more different, yet just as driven and passionate. Together- holy hell, just scorchingly perfect.

As they open us to each over the long weekend together it is beautiful, and their fear and apprehension palpable and tender. As they build their relationship- so strongly grounded in a friendship- the strong ties they each have with their families come out to help them.

Love the dialogue and banter! Genuine and awkward and at times hilarious.

Absolutely adored this short novella, another from the mind of Grey Cole. Her character development well done, the story one that will stay with me.

More than a field goal, but not quite a touchdown....There was quite a bit of backstory to Wade and Heath. How they first met, and their desires for each other. Heath was secure in his identify, whereas Wade had kept his secret for quite awhile After the secret was revealed, the attraction they both felt for the other became a reality. Things happened quite fast after that - almost seemed a little rushed - and it just kind of ended. I wish there had been an epilogue - maybe there will be another book?

Loved this book, don't normally like novellas but this was really enjoyable, well rounded characters, nice flow.
It feels like the beginning of a series, or at least the first of two books. We see the beginning of the relationship between the two MCs, lovely writing, and get to a HFN, but we are left wanting to know their families that from what we could see, are really interesting, and the development of their story through the stress of what will be one year for Wade in the NFL until he will feel ready to come out, how will he and Heath be able to survive through that, and, most importantly, the big coming out moment, if Wade will be able to keep playing... So much left to enjoy.
So, yes, beautiful story and definitely hoping for a sequel.

Out in Time by Grey Cole
Source: Purchase
My Rating: 4/5 stars
My Review:

I am quickly becoming a big fan of Grey Cole and her brand of erotica! Out in Time is a short, sweet novella that follows the blossoming romance between Wade and Heath, two college seniors on a quick but immensely eventful road trip.

Wade Truman is living the dream, almost. He is on the verge of graduating from college, has already signed a multimillion dollar deal with the NFL and, is on a road trip with the guy he has been crushing on for a couple of years. The dream comes to an abrupt end on several levels: Wade has worked hard for his NFL contract and doesn’t want to jeopardize it by coming out of the closet and Heath has no idea Wade is gay. The road trip is an opportunity, a once in a lifetime opportunity for Wade to really talk to Heath, know him better and, maybe, if he is really lucky find acceptance with the guy he has grown to like tremendously.

Heath is an extremely talented photographer whose presence in the road trip with Wade is by necessity. Wade is interviewing a gay, ex-NFL superstar for the college paper and insisted that Heath be the photographer to accompany him. Heath has known Wade for a couple of years and though he has tried to get over his crush on the “straight” guy, Heath just can’t seem to do it. Wade is a dream on legs with his perfect physique, southern charm, intellect and, sense of humor. Heath knows Wade is open-minded and supportive of gay rights but he has no idea Wade is actually gay.

Both Heath and Wade find the interview they conduct to be an enlightening experience. Wade knows coming out as a gay athlete is a huge risk and may tank his career before it ever starts.
