Again, really, Jen McLaughlin....I'm going to have to wait again to find out more about Carrie and Finn. Major cliffhanger. I love Finn. He is the ultimate hero. He thinks that he isn't good enough for Carrie's family. Carrie's dad is who I would just love to choke. High and mighty senator!!!! Carrie and Finn go through so much in this book. Then bam...I have to wait for the next one to see what happens next. Love the dual POV's. Love how Carrie stood up to her dad. Wanting more.....

(I need to know about that phone call right now that Finn received!! Is he having to leave to go on tour or did someone die in her family or did they find out their relationship?? I hope he hasnt been in remission and has cancer like his mother. The title would be fitting for the 1.5 Novella then there is a book 2 after that. Questions, I really need a synopsis here Jen!!!) side note before I read Out of Time

Out of Time Review.......So......Jen.......What the Crap!! Not just a "Cliffhanger" again but a HUGE Cliffy.......I am definitely not feeling "Positive as a Proton" about this at all!!

I freakin loved this book from the beginning to the end! I cried off and on probably the last 25% of the book! Wow, another fantastic series and cannot wait for book 3. I so want to see things come together for Finn and Carrie because they have gone through so much heartache and tragedy together. I would love to see at least a proposal maybe a wedding, just saying.

I would even like to see a story for Hernandez and Marie. That would be interesting....hint, hint ;)

You did a fabulous job once again Jen!!

Well this one didn’t go as I thought it would.

Last time we met up with Finn and Carrie they had just made up. She’d come to terms with the whole my-boyfriend-is-also-my-bodyguard thing and they’d promised not to lie to one another ever again.

Then the phone rang…

So, Finn’s not only Carrie’s bodyguard but also a Marine Reservist. I don’t know about you but that only adds to the man’s sex appeal. Turns out that the phone call was from some C.O. (commanding officer) stating that he needed to report that weekend. Thing is, it’s not a drill weekend. Someone queue menacing music. Now Finn has PROMISED not to hide anything from Carrie so he has to tell her but in doing so runs the risk of breaking her little heart. I am a military wife. I get that those phone calls suck. Being away from the man (or woman) who you love stinks – it’s horrible – so I can appreciate Finn’s hesitancy to share the news. He just got her back and now he has to possibly say good-bye again? When he finally does tell Carrie she takes it pretty well, at least outwardly. Since we have the privilege of diving into her head WE know that she’s secretly freaking out and fearing the worst.

“I’ve never been scared of anything before. Guns. Surfing. War. But now I have the biggest fear of all – losing you.”

On top of all this, Carrie’s father is starting to sniff around. It would appear that the senator suspects that she is hiding a love interest from him. Yeah, well, she is. He shows up and essentially keeps Carrie and Finn apart. Those two don’t want daddy dearest catching wind of their love affair. He’d be much happier to have her with someone like Cody…no, wait…Cory. He’s a giant D-bag but man does he look good on paper.

Out of Time is the second book in Jen McLaughlin’s Out of Line Series. After falling completely in love with Carrie and Finn in the first book, Out of Line, I was beyond eager to get my hands on this book. Well, it was everything I could have dreamed of…and more. I loved, loved, loved this book.

Carrie and Finn have overcome the obstacle of Finn being Carrie’s bodyguard and are enjoying their newfound love. Well, they’ve sort of overcome that whole bodyguard thing. Carrie’s father, a senator, still has no idea their relationship went from professional to personal. They plan on telling him, eventually, but now the more pressing problem is Finn’s role in the Marines. He’s gotten an ominous call and fears he will be deployed much sooner than he thought. Fearing he will upset her if he hides what little info he has about leaving, he has no choice but to tell her what may be in store. Finn sees an upside to this mess when he’s given the chance of a lifetime in the form of a special mission. One that will hopefully improve the senator’s view of him and ultimately the senator’s view of him as someone worthy of dating Carrie. Now, the only thing left is to just enjoy the possibly limited time they have left together. Of course, that’s when her father decides to come for a surprise visit. Now the question becomes will it be the Senator’s visit or Finn’s choice of a mission that will threaten their relationship more….

As some of you may know, I completely adore this series. So much so that I deemed it “tattoo worthy”….and got a Finn tattoo. Well, I was a nervous wreck waiting to read this book. I had an idea from the message Finn got in the last book that he would be leaving Carrie.
