"Definitely a page turner and easy to get invested in the characters. For fans of Zombie thrillers, Apocalypse fiction, and The Walking Dead. The author doesn't downplay the hardcore reality of living in post-apocalyptic times but also doesn't glamorize the gore. He paints realistic scenarios and delivers satisfying, if not always happy, outcomes to terrible situations. There's an element of hope woven throughout that makes you ponder deeper questions. Well-written, well-researched and well-edited. I wished the story had been longer!" -Norma Hinkens, NYT & USA Today bestselling author of the Underground Series

As an adventurous nerd, he loves the outdoors and when he’s not found high in the mountains of Alaska, he can be observed living on the rolling plains of eastern Montana with his wife, guns and two katanas. To the author: Joshua, 'binoculars' would've been enough; I don't give a hoot about focal length or brand they carry. :-)
You've got two brothers - both super young with 1000s of dollars in guns and gear. One was a 4-year Marine with no combat experience that seems to be highly skilled in tactical maneuvers. Training only goes so far. The brothers are extremely good shots under duress and are ready for the NWO.
On the flip side, you've got a father that spent 300,000 dollars on truck upgrades for just-in-case. He's pretty cool though, and a good dad, so there is that.
There is some major Jesus love in this story.
When reading the first couple pages - I kept thinking that an editor and a seasoned writer could tighten things up. But, I kept reading.
And when I was done, I jumped right to Book 2. It was a fun story. The characters are all fun with their own hang-ups and the author loves head-shots and death. And Jesus.
I'm actually about 25% into Book 2 at this moment. 3.7 of 5 Stars
The only thing I wasn't a fan of was the detail the author went into with the firearms used. While I understand this is something the main characters would know and appreciate, it was hard for me to get excited about the differences of one assault rifle or to another. The being said, I can't wait to see what the next book brings.
