However, like the TV series, volume one explains very little. Volume one ends at TV episode #6--in case you were wondering.
Art is appropriately minimalist and crude, but fits really well with the story. I like it so far, can't wait to read volume 2
Kirkman's story about a 20-something man who has had a number of his loved ones possessed by demons is well written and very nicely drawn by Paul Azaceta. The first issue of this story gives us a little background - his mom was possessed and beat him. Of course, he didn't know at the time she was possessed. Now, as he helps a local priest deal with another possession, it begins to dawn on him that his Mom may have been possessed.
It's a fun concept that uses the present to understand and rectify the past.
I will buy the next volume.
I found this to be an intriguing story, but there wasn't a lot of action. It is mostly character development at this point. I supposed I'll have to buy Volume 2 and see if I enjoy the story as it progresses.
The dialogue is excellent and reveals what is necessary at the moment. The writing is solid through this volume. You will be involved from page one. The art/illustrations are a perfect match to the writing. This is a definite must read for horror fans!
