between gardening and doing other things, i frequently need to document information of a nature i need to last.

while i was looking for witness markers, i found these tags and bought 3 boxes in the hopes they were what was written in the description and they were.

the come with wires unattached so if you wish to use a nail or a stapler, you can do so. they have a soft cardboard inside that allows for pretty heavy writing on either side without affecting the other. i have placed a few in areas where i know they will be beaten up by nature so i can gauge how the ones more protected will do, but from what i see they are better than described.

i will be buying a lot more, for many different uses

Exactly as advertised. Compact storage box. These have cardboard in the core of each tag so you can write on both sides. The cardboard is exposed on the short ends so it might rot in the elements, if that matters to you.

I actually bought these for a project... I glued magnets to the back, cut off the hole punched ends and made drawer labels for my rolling 3 cabinet toolbox. I wrote some out but for drawers with specific tools like hammers, wrenches and screwdrivers, I drew pictures of the tool. They turned out whimsical and great and should last a long time. Perfect for Hydroponic Gardening

Great Product! I purchased this to label my newly planted seeds in my hydroponic net pots. This metal tag is a perfect way for me to identify seedlings (which often look alike). The metal tag will also not be damaged by water. The fact that these come with a metal wire for each tag was perfect for attaching to the edge of the net pots. These tags are also very hardy and can be used on both sides. We used a ballpoint pen for marking which worked very well. We also cut them in half because we did not need the full length of the label. It will allow us to use the other half at a future date. (Purple light in the photo is from LED grow lights)

Easy to write on with any pointed object

These were great. We just grafted about 200 trees and the labels were large enough that we were able to write the name of the tree, the root stock and date grafted. The back side is also writable for future notes on the trees.
I liked how easy it was to write on the metal with a pen, or in our case a sharpened stick, note of forewarning there is no erasing so make sure you spell and write the correct info the first time :)

These ingenious metal tags are perfect for labeling plants - I use them so I don't mix up varities of small container planted trees. Because you can use both sides to write on, I am able to put on both the variety names and a bit of other info as well. Just what I wanted!! Very pleased with this product: not just handy, but cool old fashioned quality too. Can see using the extras for other applications. 5 stars plus. Way better than writing on a plastic tag.

Great write on tags at half the price of others. They are just slightly shorter, maybe an eighth of an inch so they're still highly visible in the foilage of a tree.

I use mine to mark different varieties of pomegranate trees in my orchard.

The best way to emboss these tags with your plant or tree name, is to use a bic mechanical pencil without the lead. The tip of the pencil works perfectly to emboss a name neatly.
