This solar light does everything it claims to do. This is a very nice solar light with a big solar panel and a large capacity battery. It is bright enough to replace my former wired outdoor light, and it is sensitive enough that when you approach it, it turns on right away without your having to wave your arms in front of it.
I live in the Northeast where the sun is low in Winter and there are also trees. So, I use it in Mode 2 where it turns on with motion at full brightness, and it stays off the rest of the time. This means all of the sunlight goes to charge the battery and there is plenty of light when motion is detected.
Here is the trick you need to know. There is a black button on the front for setting modes. The unit is shipped in the OFF setting. Charge the unit by letting it sit in bright sunlight for a few hours. Then, take it to a DARK ROOM. The Mode button will ONLY function when the unit is in darkness!
The diffuse white filter over the LEDs serves to distribute the light evenly, so there is plenty of light to the sides, as well as directly underneath.
I will probably buy more of these!
