My biggest problem with this book is that I liked both Sam and Marabeth better at the beginning of the book than I did at the end.

At the beginning of the book Sam is a protective but sexy alpha male. By the middle of the book he's extremely controlling and is playing little headgames with Marabeth that make me want to kick him almost as much as she wants to kick him. And by the end of it, he's more than controlling, he's also patronizing.

At the beginning of the book Marabeth is a strong-willed woman who has an unfortunate attraction to a man that she doesn't want to be attracted to. In the middle of the book she's fighting for recognition from both her father and her soon-to-be husband - not just recognition, but respect. She's fighting the good fight, demanding answers, working on projects for the good of the country and insisting that Sam stop treating her like a child and that he respect her work.

By the end of the book she has given up everything to him. She's incensed about how he doesn't listen to her, the fact that he's pursuing a project directly opposed to one of hers, and his constant patting on her head and acting like she's bubblehead... but as soon as he admits his love to her who cares about all that? Hey, he said the L word... all those other problems? Big deal?! We never get to see how they work out any of those issues, what happens with their conflicting projects, or whether Sam ever starts treating her if she has any brains. The story is over with as soon as she knows what his feelings are towards her.

Well you can love a dog, but that doesn't mean that you'll treat it as your equal.

The most amusing thing about this episode was watching Sam, the Uber-Alpha male, try to deal with sweet, stubborn Princess Marabeth - and losing the battle AND his temper. Being used to giving orders and being obeyed is great for work, but trying to deal with a sweetheart that way was a mistake, right from the beginning. Canceling all of her public appearances with no notice, then refusing to tell her why, was obviously not the way to handle the situation. Once she forced him to explain why he'd done it, and made him allow her to read the hate mail herself, she immediately cooperated with him and his guards, and even helped identify the nutcase who had been making the threats. I was so glad to see Marabeth stick with her own convictions, in spite of her feelings for Sam, and refuse to enter into an abusive relationship with a dominant male (like her father). He would never have changed if she hadn't put her foot down. Now there is only Prince Max left to marry off, so that his father can get the grandchildren he's so looking forward to! I'll bet that story is going to be a winner.

The plot was outstanding! As always Elizabeth LENNOX weaves a story about a married couple living apart but still in love! Grandmother has two heart attacks and Dante comes after her for grandmother. Soon he discovers his MOTHER is the problem. Read how it all works out!

The outrageous strong and demanding man the seemingly soft and weak woman? Not really! I Love Lennox but most of hers are too short for me but it keeps me engaged, interested and wanting more! Thank goodness for them being a series! LOL

This book was almost as good as the first but not quite as believable. A bit to, I don't know how to say it. Here in Australia we would say hairy fairy and everyone will know what I mean. But for non Aussies it means to cute and cuddly to be real or something like that. Having said that it still is well written and a good read, but in my opinion just not as good as the first one. I am going to still read the next book though. Happy reading.

I did not like how EL ended this one. I don't want to ruin it for anyone but the resolution comes in the epilogue. Who does that? I kept waiting for the conflict at the end that finally brings the couple solidly together and it never happened.

Unpredictable is good but this felt like tripping and falling on your face.

It was worth the purchase, but not a re-read.

I liked this story because it is cute and sweet but very predictable. Ignore the fact that the author tried to slip in two issues at the end that could have been developed into more than mere storyline deviations. The author could have done better with those.
