First - they fit perfect for a standard oven.
They don't weight too much (only 0.5 inch thick) and easy to store when unused.
I've saw YouTube tutorials how to season a pizza stone with oil.
Please do NOT do that !
The oil is burning on high temperature - making high amount of a poisoning smoke which will smell bad on the house for days.
I didn't know how stop the smoke and it was like I've lighted up a big torch - until I've eventually take the stones out from the house to get cold.
Obviously, I ended up throwing the stones and ordering a new ones.
Second warning - some pointed out the stones needed to be washes with a dish soap for cleaning.
This is a big mistake - since the stone will absorb the soap and will emit this any time you'll use it.
Only clean with water and leave it to dry before use - so it won't crack because the high temperature change.
Because of its Stainless Surface (which will get spot rust because of it's semi-brushed finish) uncooked dough will stick to it and needs plenty flower to counteract it and have the pizza slide off when putting on the stone. Also, the shape and size is not ideal for round pizza's.
I still gave it 3 stars for it does have it's uses. Although not invented for it I use this when I'm grilling fish, especially when it's a flaky fish.
For a good Pizza Peel, look further (as did I) to find a round, wooden peel as you see them using in the authentic Italian restaurants. Just make sure the edge is tapered to easily slide under the pizza.
I haven't used this way yet, but I expect this will work GREAT for flipping hash browns or grilled cheese sandwiches on a griddle.
I like that the handle can rotate around for smaller storage space if you use it camping, but I'll note that this also makes the handle a little less sturdy (it starts to wiggle a bit if the nut loosens up). This isn't a big issue for me as long as I remember to really tighten the nut and re-tighten if I feel it start to move.
