Start Bee Balm flower seeds and enjoy bringing the butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees into your yard. Monarda is not only showy in the garden, but it also makes a great cut flower as well. The Beebalm flowers are edible and the mint-scented leaves are used in teas or in potpourri. These flower seeds may be sown from early spring up until 8 weeks before the last frost in the fall.
Top customer reviews
I am in the Midwest, and I did get some powdery mildew on these plants a month after they were in the ground, but that also developed on the other Mondarda plants I purchased from a reputable nursery. I chalk that up to a *very* rainy year here. It did not appear to affect the health of the plant, and of course does not indicate any quality issue with these seeds, but I thought I'd mention it in case you are considering planting this in a humid climate.
I can't give them 5 stars because I have not seen the flowers yet. :-)
