"Outspoken"--the collection of poems by Imon Rizvi are truly outspoken--bold in its condemnation of the spectre of violence, war, and the cruelty thrust upon by those in power over the innocent. By very simple nuances of short sentences, Imon uses the imagery with clarity in getting the message of love, peace, and humaneness so vividly in these innocently carved simple poems of humanity and love for mankind.

It's a voice that vibrates in the stillness of man's stagnant spirits those are trampled along by weighty wheels of commercial cranes that have made machines of working man, once humane, hearty and honoured being - the best of God's creation. It's now only in the world of literature that you find fellow-feelings, sympathy, empathy, and enduring fraternity throbbing among the pages otherwise man is gradually growing devoid of all these virtues, that he was created for. Mr. Syed Imon Rizvi says,
"World is precious, even little flies",
From the Author
In every age and generation, we usually have two kinds of people. The first kind is the oppressor, and the other is oppressed. The first kind is the cruel, and the other is innocent. So the question is, is there a third kind or not?
And the answer is Yes, there is a third kind.
This third kind is neither the oppressor nor the supporter of oppressor. This third kind actually deals with how to raise voice and convey the truth to the people, so that the oppressor would be exposed and may be punished. This third kind raises its voice against injustices, corruption, cruelty, tyranny, unfairness, and discrimination in any society.
So the job for this kind always gets very problematic and troublesome, but the history is the greatest proof, which shows that when these brave people stood against bad practices, they brought great changes into the society. They compelled the tyrants and oppressors to change their behavior. These are the ones who brought revolutions not only in cities or countries but also in the kingdom of hearts.
I want to be that third kind, but here I am not proclaiming or praising myself as a revolutionary, but surely I do believe that every citizen of this beloved earth has the responsibility, to pinpoint the issues of their time, identify the culprits, track down the conspiracies, diagnose the problems, and boldly distinguish the righteous and sinful. Prophets have done it; simple men like Abraham Lincoln, Malcolm X, Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Park, Mother Teresa, Gandhi, Edhi, Nelson Mandela, etc. are great examples for us.
But the main idea, behind all of that, is to do it bravely and boldly. Fear should not take place in our hearts in doing a right thing. If it does, then we are not fair to our people, country or mother earth. Then we would not be even fair to our souls. And what could be more important, than to be fair to our souls?
The same notion has convinced me to detect, pinpoint, and identify the unpleasant elements, issues and affairs in my society and in the world I am living in, in my times. I should, and I would do it through my writing and voice.
So what should I do now? According to what my heart and soul tells me, I should be straightforward, honest, and outspoken.
Yes, I said, "OUTSPOKEN". And believe me, this is just a beginning.
