Even though I read MJD this pre-quel did not work for me. It didn't tempt me to buy the book, didn't make me wonder about the character and just let me flabbergasted about it's purpose. Even for free I recommend not reading it.

I don't get this book at all. Not good. It's confusing. It didn't capture my attention. I normally have loved Mary Janice Davidson in the past but her writing is absolutely lacking a few things lately.

Oh my G-d, BEST free download ever. A short, short prequel to the novel Me, Myself and I. I was laughing so hard I had tears streaming down my face. The main character has multiple personalities and is described as "a loon training to be an FBI agent who was as silent and spooky as Batman when she wasn't turning somersaults in trees and kicking over ladders and freaking out over lost opportunities to administer meds to bewildered felines."

I've got to go buy the novel Me, myself and I that follows this prequel (even though it is priced at more than I would normally pay). I haven't been this entertained by a character in years!

MJD's writing has gradually become erratic and disappointing. I know this is just a short prequel, but it still manages to display some of the most annoying characteristics of her more recent books. Characters are caricatures. The humour is too forced, too over-the-top, tries too hard to be hip, is not funny, and overall it insults her fans and former fans. In short, it bombs.

I used to buy her books as soon as they came out. Then I started trying them out first from the library, as soon as they came out. Then I started eventually getting around to reading them from the library, when I had nothing else new to read. Now, I'm not sure I will even bother reading any of her new books. I don't know what happened, or why her editors let her get so far off-track, but this short piece, like some of her recent longer works, was painful to read.

I thoroughly enjoyed ME, MYSELF AND WHY?, so thought this short little prequel would be a fun, entertaining read. Well, it's definitely short, and it was free, so I guess I can't complain. I actually did chuckle a little - I mean, a guy at a speed dating event talking about his experience with a woman with multiple personalities should be funny, right? But it was just way too short and rushed to really amount to anything. Plus, even though it was super short and published by a big-name publisher, it still contained spelling and grammatical errors. Overall, okay for a free, quick read, but don't feel you need to rush it to the top of your "to-be-read" pile.

This is the craziest, most confusing thing I have ever read! Even for a prequal there is no sense in this! I do not want to get the book this goes to, it will probably be just as crazy and disjointed.

A very short, but fun story about a guy , who while participating in speed dating tells a story about meeting a very odd young woman and unwittingly finds himself helping her rescue a cat she's cat sitting out of a tree. If it's a MaryJanice Davidson book, you can count on it being not only fun, but funny, quirky, and down right a blast. I've read all her books my favorite of course being Betsy the Vampire queen of Minnesota. Being from St Paul Minnesota myself it's easy to picture the setting of each story. I found only one small mistake. In one of the Betsy books she goes to a Wal Mart in White Bear Lake. There is no Wal Mart in WBL. The closest one to WBL is in Vadnais Heights.

I recently read the full Me Myself and Why. I found it odd, with an abrupt ending and very little of the advertised humor within its pages. I thought perhaps reading the prequel would shed some light so I gave it a try. As one who read the full story, I can tell you that there is little chance of comprehending any of what you read in the prequel if you have not read the full novel. And, after reading both, I would recommend moving on and skipping the whole thing. They were just plain weird.
