I heard about this somewhere, and after seeing it on Amazon, I thought this would be a fun toy for our new puppy. To be honest, we technically have two puppies, one that's a 14 week old Aussie Shepherd, and one that's a 4 year old 100+ lbs doberman. When it arrived, they didn't know what to think of it until I squeaked it for them. For the first day, the Aussie, Oliver had it, and tore 3-4 squares apart within an hour. After that, we felt it was okay for Max to play with it also. They both get enjoyment playing with it, chewing on it, playing tug-o-war, annoying the other two dogs and stuff, but there's only maybe 3 or so squeakers left now.
Literally, only about 1/2 of the origional nylon pad is left, and although they still play with it, it's nowhere near it's intended shape or condition. I actually got two other toys for the puppies. I bought the dog bubbles from Amazon, and all the dogs love to chase them around as they float. I also on eBay, purchased plain squeakers in bulk. A plain squeaker gives Max and Oliver just as much enjoyment as the squeaker pad, and last just about as long.
I also want to point out that this pad has hard, small squeakers, so even if you think that you have a small dog that wouldn't be as rough with the pad and so it'll last longer, they may not be able to even get it to squeak as they take a lot of pressure, therefore, may not be interested in it.
