Overcoming Adversity: An Anthology for Andrew Kindle Edition
The anthology is part of a fundraising effort to send the editor's stepson, Andrew McNaughton, to a specialist college in England. Andrew has cerebral palsy, and is a remarkable young man with a promising future. However, the free further education options offered in his own country of Scotland will not challenge him and allow him to progress. In order to access the education he deserves, Andrew will have to pay exorbitant fees, thus creating a situation of discrimination.
Help us get Andrew to college by buying a book that runs the full gamut of human emotions, ultimately leaving you inspired and glad to be alive. Whatever struggles you are going through, our sincere hope is that this book will help.

Denise C Covey is a native Queenslander from Australia’s Sunshine Coast. Her travel bag is always ready for that next overseas trip when travel is permitted again. When she’s not working as an educator, she writes. Her novella, Under the Tuscan Moon was inspired by adventures in Tuscany, with its medieval villas, its hill towns bordered by gates and parapets, its noble past and its magical forests. Imagining those forests during medieval times saw the birth of her vampire series.
Denise has had flash fiction, short stories and travel articles published in Australian magazines. Other publications include a vignette in the first edition of the Vine Leaves Literary Journal, a flash fiction in the Campaigner Challenges e-book in 2011, and the Dog Days of Summer flash fiction competition on Conversations from Land’s Edge where she placed second. An article she compiled on writing craft was published in the Insecure Writers Support Group e-book. Her fictionalized story on the Queensland 2011 floods opened the Overcoming Adversity, Stories for Andrew e-book. She’s currently working on publishing several novels and short story collection. Her first novel set in Paris, Paris Dreams is currently in pre-order. Her series of classic vampire tales set in Renaissance times will be published under her pen name, Silver Tree.
Denise is online at her blog, Denise Covey, http://dencovey.blogspot.com on Facebook, on Twitter, on Pinterest and Wattpad.

For Clare, storytelling has always been a sacred space — a place of wonder, connection, and escape. Now, as an author, they strive to offer readers that same refuge through stories infused with magic, romance, and quiet resistance.
A queer, neurodivergent creative, Clare writes with an open heart and a justice-driven lens, often centering marginalized voices and themes of chosen family, healing, and hope. Their work is rooted in a gentle faith — one that finds God in softness, starlight, and the radical act of compassion.
Clare lives in the West Midlands, UK, with their spouse and two children. When not building fantastical worlds or devouring books, they can be found gaming, binge-watching cozy series, or crafting handmade magic.
Looking ahead, Clare is focused on cultivating a vibrant, values-led creative community. Through their stories and the Kindred Book Club — a platform to uplift indie authors and support meaningful causes — they aim to spark joy, amplify diverse voices, and remind readers that they're never alone.
