I'm suffering from panic attacks for more than seven years now; with ups and downs. Lately, I was also shifting towards agoraphobia. Although I'm receiving help from a professional, I still had problems of confidence and low self-esteem, due to the panic attacks. This book delivers what is promises: knowledge, tips and techniques that help, if not to treat, to dramatically reduce the panic attacks and boost self-confidence so that you can at least start socializing again.
Careful though: the book states -and is right- that there is no miraculous treatment. It doesn't say or hint that all you need to do is read the book one time and you'll be cured from panic attacks --no! The book is a self-teaching method to exercise and master with time techniques that will help you identify triggers which trigger your panic attacks; take them down before they manifest to their maximum state, and start fighting them back. It will take some time (the book says the average is two months; but that's not a must) before you really see the big results. The final outcome really depends on the reader per se. Personally, a month later from reading the book, I've managed to identify two panic attacks and stop them before they get me. I manage to monitor myself better, recognize some negative thinking patters which help seeds of panic attacks to thrive, and even more, I've forced myself to leave the house and visit the super market, walk the commercial streets and go out for coffee with friends (the last was a bit hard, but I managed to do it)!
All in all; though I still am in the middle of the stages and exercises, I see big improvement in my personal life. The book has helped me quite a lot. Therefore, I recommend this book to any other fellow human, who suffers from panic attacks and/or agoraphobia, and give them my love and support; don't give up, and give this book a go. I think it might help you.
