This story melts off the pages and right into your heart! Erin writes so vividly and honestly that it feels like she is writing about her own friends and neighbors. I felt like I could sit down with Chloe and Dawson at the end and have a glass of sweet iced tea and have a long talk in the shade. Or go to the county fair with Tommy and watch him throw up on Chloe all over again (funny scene but you have to read it to enjoy it). I received this Advanced Reader Copy of this book under no obligation but I have chosen to voluntarily review it.
It was a pure pleasure to sit down and read this story (part but vaguely so of the Long Valley Romance series). I read this through in one sitting and it was over way too soon. I would love to know more about Dawson and Chloe and find out more about their future but maybe Erin has plans for them and we'll see them in the future. I loved how Erin doesn't get involved in a lot of mind games and character angst and mind wanderings in her stories, no page upon page of "what if's and I wonder's". The characters do have a history and this is a second chance romance but Erin breaks through all of the worry/anxiety/frustration that a character goes through sometimes wondering what another character is thinking or feeling and goes to the heart of the matter. Now that's not to say that there isn't a little suspense and anxious moment or two to make the coming together that much sweeter but doesn't spend multiple pages on character internal dialogue, Thank you for that Erin!!
I LOVE this Long Valley Romance series and this story is a wonderful, sweet and happy-ending addition to the collection. It adds depth and scope to the valley and the people who inhabit it.
Bravo Erin!! Bravo!!
