Wow and Wow, what a short story prequel to Deep Shadows by Vannetta Chapman. Reading Overshadowed got me to thinking that we are no where stocked up on supplies as we should be, and makes me want to run out and buy all I can . I read Deep Shadows and loved it . I can’t wait for The Raging Storm book two in The remnant series. Gabe Thompson received a phone call and he goes right into action. He is to relocate. He tells no one what he knows. He leaves his cat with his neighbor , and only tells her that she can have and use anything in his home she needs and takes off. Rumors going around , but no one knows the fully event of what is going to happen. Are you prepared for a solar flare, which would plunge the world into total darkness for decades to come? Chapman has done her research on this one and it has got me to really thinking .
This ebook also contains the first Chapter of Deep Shadows and a preview of The Raging Storm plus a note from the Author.
Overshadowed brings readers into the last few minutes just before the start of the solar flare. The display of colorful lights that painted the dark sky accompanied by the loss of electricity. The story leaves us there with special air force secret agent Gab Thomas. He's been dispatched to a small Texas town to help the residents to cope with the devastating effects that the solar flare will bring to the community. Why weren't the people warned of the approaching solar flare? How many Government leaders knew but failed to prepare the people?
I gave this book 5 stars because it takes readers to the threshold of the solar flare disaster. I liked the content of the ebook prequel and felt I was prepared then to read on into the series.
"Overshadowed" is a prequel to a series written by Vannetta Chapman, one that many (like myself) might not ever give a chance due to the followers that tend to swarm when one reads such novels. I saw this story on my list to read and was tempted to remove it, but somehow I accidentally clicked the wrong button and ended up downloading it anyways.
This story is about a world that is about to change forever. Everyone hears of the theories of how the world might end, and what can happen if we were to be without modern technology; however, no one is ever truly prepared for when that possibility becomes a reality. You will follow the beginning story of two important characters, one in the know, and one just learning the truth for the first time.
Will Americans survive what is to come?
Vannetta Chapman has written a story that will forever change my awareness and I must read the other books in this series. I want to discover the fates of Gabe, Lenora and Suzanne and I need to increase my awareness! Yes, this is fiction today but.......
What is coming is a massive solar event which is predicted to destroy the country's, maybe the entire world's, electrical grid for a very long time.
This free short is really more of an introduction than anything else. It does allow the reader to get a feel for how the author will deal with the story but not much else. It seems like it should be an exciting series and I plan on reading more of it.
