I had the Night Owl for years. This time I purchased the Night Owl and a VisAcuity Wallet Light Magnifier Card. The last few Night Owls I purchased had a problem with the light switch. It stopped working after using it just a few times. The VisAcuity is more powerful and clearer.

I originally bought the OWL for my husband, whose distance and middle sight are still very good, but he finally needs reading glasses, but carrying around a case to dinner and the like was a royal pain and half the time he forgot. The convenience and the light has made him the envy of many of our friends at table and we've even had people at adjoining tables ask to borrow the OWL.

My brother-in-law is similarly challenged and was fishing for his reading glasses at Commander's Palace when my husband (his brother) whipped out the OWL - well, I knew the perfect "host" gift for their having had us down for Mardi Gras.

When I asked my brother-in-law if he was seeing any better, he responded, "It's much worse now. I actually KNOW how much the bill is before I sign!!

This was a fun and well received "recognition" gift in our shop here at work. It works well and is beneficial here on the job and for use in our everyday lives.

Very small viewing area and the light went out almost immediately. Waste of money.

Carry it like a credit card and be ready for those times there isn't enough light to read a menu or map. Great little addition to the wallet.

This should get 5 stars--it works great, and indeed will fit easily into all credit card slots I've tried. It's even cheap! Just one complaint: I know "fit and finish" shouldn't be an issue with a credit card lighted magnifier, but this is amazingly shoddy. However, it seems sturdy, as reviewers who have been long time users seem to attest, and who cares? Still, if they could have made it look as polished as the credit cards it lives with, I'd have given in 5 stars. One consolation is that hopefully it will be very dark whenever you need to use it.

I received the product [ OWL LITE ]and found the light that makes the magnifier an "OWL LIGHT" was inoperative. I sent an email to retailer. Their comment was to ask if twisting the card helped [ they were very familiar with the product ] and of course it did not work and why should you twist a credit card light when it was made to use with one hand ?????
I sent the product back and it was refused by the retailer.
I am now familiar with this particular product and after trying several at a nearby retailer, found they ALL did not light.
POOR PRODUCT. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

folks, invest in a pair of reading glasses. I got this as a gift (gag gift) for the parents. They took it to restaurants and used it to read menus. The light was useful, but a pair of reading glasses is the preferred way to go. A conversation piece at best.
