The first section is a basic introduction to the book, definition of what a furry is, and a how to read guide.
The second is an introduction to the author. I feel this could have gone better switched out with the furry definition part, since that felt like the real start of the guide.
The third section is vocabulary, and I found it to be very lacking. The words picked for definition are kind of all over the place, and there are very few of them. I appreciate that *this kind of roleplay text* is mentioned, but the explanation for this and many other things didn't seem very in depth. If I didn't already know the meaning to the words, I would feel pretty confused.
The fourth section was pretty well written. This is the part about different kinds of artwork and how to look for an artist to commission. It explained the differences between different types of commissions (busts/full/sketch) very well.
The fifth section about how to deal with the "bad apples" of the fandom. I think this part had great potential, but it didn't live up to it. A bare-bones guide of what to do when you're being harassed by a fellow furry would have been great to see. There is actually no real advice on how to deal with these types of people in this section at all, just a heads up that they exist.
It felt very rushed and unpolished. I would not give this to my parents to help them understand the fandom because I feel they would be too confused. The way some of this is written is very much in a furry in-joke way, which is great for furries, but not so much for strangers to the fandom.
Formatting may also be an issue with this ebook. I had trouble reading it on the Kindle desktop app, where it crashed every time I reached the definition of Boop. I couldn't view anything past that page, and it would just circle around to the title page. However, I was able to read the entire book with the Kindle Cloud app directly through the Amazon page on my browser.
I think this does have the potential to become a really nice guide, but it needs work. The text needs less "hehehe" asides to make it easier to read for those not used to this kind of writing style. Vocabulary needs to be defined better and the section expanded to include some more common words. I'd leave off on any yiff jokes for what is said to be a SFW guide that is potentially for parents (it was sort of hidden but still obvious enough for a curious, unsuspecting parent to notice and type into Google). The feel of it was very much cute and fun, but I went into this thinking it would be a starter guide to the fandom that I could share with people who aren't familiar with it.
