Animals love the sweet smell and taste of leafy Oxbow Orchard Grass Hay, and that makes it a good addition to an herbivore's healthy meal plan. Like other long-strand grass hays, the soft-textured Orchard Grass Hay is high in fiber, low in protein and supports the health of small herbivores by stimulating digestion, preventing obesity and making mealtime more appealing. Mix Orchard Grass Hay with other Oxbow grass hays to create a sweet and nutritious combination. 40 oz. bag.

This grass is more "grassy" and even smells like it. Dried grass. I don't see any thick stems or anything in it. When I put some down tonight the girls went nuts and ate and ate and ate. The pieces are all very consistent and it appears this will all be consumed, rather than picked over.
I don't know if it is less nutritious in some way than the Timothy, but for what its worth the nutrition labels on the back of both bags give the same info. For now I am going to switch to purchasing this.
EDIT: They still leave some of this unconsumed as well. Eventually I bought the Oxbow Timothy Hay again and I alternate between the two for each serving to give the some variety.
I'm allergic to Timothy hay, which is why I went with the orchard grass hay instead. If you find yourself sneezing around Timothy hay, then switch to this and you might be much better off.
So if you order this and run in to the same issue, give it a few weeks to give them time to adjust to it.
