When people are saying it's really small font..... they do mean REALLY small font!!
But it's bold font. It's the size of bold font on over-the-counter medicine packages.
The contents are very thorough, concise, and well written with very clear pictures and illustrations.
I also bought the normal sized one and the font isn't that much larger!! lol
HIGHLY recommended for med students and practitioners.
If you are a first or second year med student buy it now and familiarize yourself with the book. There is A LOT of information in this publication.
It is set up in sections, with a number of cloth ribbon bookmarks.
Buy it, you will not regret it.

As ubiquitous in hospitals as stethoscopes, the Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine is a guiding star for all medical students, junior doctors and trainees. The culmination of more than 20 years' clinical experience, and containing the knowledge and insight gained by more than 15 authors, the new mini eighth edition is the definitive pocket-sized guide to today's clinical medicine.
Packed with clear, clinical management advice which is practical to implement at the bed-side, the Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine is written in a clear and didactic style. With witty, esoteric asides linking medicine to everything from the classics to popular culture, all the material is presented in a way that is instantly memorable and even easier to put into practice.
With extensive improvements based on reader feedback, the new eighth edition boasts even more black and white and full-colour images, which are now larger to improve their clarity and ease-of-use. Mindful of how doctors' training is constantly evolving, a new chapter on 'history and examination' explores this relevant critical skill in depth, enabling you to elicit as much information from the patient as possible. An expanded radiology chapters features improved images, and new topics are devoted to new cancers such as nosocomial infections, and further common surgical procedures. The references have been thoroughly overhauled with 'key references' identifying the best places to start when researching the subject, and all references are fully accessible via the supporting website.
Now available in a convenient miniature format, completely unabridged, the Oxford Handbook of Clinical Medicine is more portable and useful than ever. Loved and trusted by generations of doctors, it is a reassuring beacon of wisdom, knowledge and skills, that is forever in your sights.

The reader, a third-year medical student in his twenties, said:
Liked - very easy to carry around the hospital, fits in your coat easily. Generates many "ooohhhh... so cute" when you pull it out. Much smaller than the regular version.
Didn't like - you need your glasses to read this, very small print.
-----------
PS: Glancing through the gift before sending it, I was very impressed with the handbook myself (I'm a medical translator, not an MD)... the depth and breadth of the material it covers are considerable... but my 58-year-old eyes need the regular version, which I intend to buy.

An amazing compendium of knowledge

A must have for everyone either learning medicine or already a practitioner. The amount of information in this is staggering. It's also well written and divided into sections, many with its own colored silk bookmark.
When they say in other comments that the font is small..... it is true. It's the size of bold font print on over-the-counter medicines. But regardless, it's easy to read (given you don't have eyesight problems). A small (credit card sized) page magnifier might be a good idea. It fits inside perfectly.
The illustrations and pictures are amazingly clear and detailed. The pages are gloss, medium weight bond so it resists wear more than regular paper.
Everything that is in the larger version is in this one too. Fit's easily in pockets.
