I purchased two sets of these and have been using them for 3 months now -- under two different beds. I placed batteries in them since there was no convenient electrical access to keep them charged by USB. So far, the batteries haven't run out, but they are dimmer than they started; however, I like them in a dimmer mode (which brings me to: they should offer a dimming functionality on these) since they arrived super bright (normally, that's what I like, but for waking up from a slumber and walking around, it takes some eye adjustment). My main reason for purchasing these was to be able to get up in the dark and be able to walk around the bed without bumping my legs, feet, or knees. These provide more than adequate lighting to walk around in for a regular sized bedroom without turning on the lights. I also have a bedroom where the light switch doesn't work, so I wanted to have a light come on as soon as you walk in the room. This did the trick! It does take a bit of time and testing to place the sensor in the right spot to have it only come on when you walk within a certain distance, but overall, it adds a nice ambiance to the bedroom and functionally, works as stated.
I thought that I would purchase a couple more of these to go around the other border of the beds, but one strip is more than enough for lighting.
