A solid, bright, multipurpose flashlight.

Very pleased with this purchase. Construction feels solid. Metal body and comfortable weight puts this flashlight light years (sorry for the pun) beyond plastic flashlights. The different light modes are also helpful: besides a standard flashlight (high power/low power/strobe), there are two additional lighting options using lights in the handle (you can see the side light in the pic). When paired with the strong magnet on one side of the head of the flashlight (opposite of the side light), you have a very versatile light that can be put up anywhere there's metal. With the side light able to be in a bright white or red light, with a variety of strobe options, this is an obvious choice for a flashlight you put in your vehicle. While I've not tried charging the flashlight with the solar array, I have charged it using the USB port, and it worked fine. I also charged my iPhone 6 from it. I'll update this review when I've had a chance to use the flashlight more (and get some idea how long it takes to fully charge the flashlight from the solar array alone). But initial impressions have exceeded my expectations. The only downside: included instructions were minimal without any diagrams.

One Hell of a Light for a Hell of a Price!

So when I received this light I actually didn't have high expectations for the price. I couldn't have been more wrong. I actually own several LED flashlights and have a decent level of knowledge on the workings and manufacture of these things, and I will tell you now that I would have paid even more for this little beast. The construction is hefty and durable and the light is a nice white LED with only a hint of blue tint. Just about everything on this light that was advertised went above beyond what was promised.

PROS:

- Great construction. While I didn't have the desire to test it's shock impact myself, I am pretty certain this thing can take a decent fall. At least from normal heights where you might be carrying the light or using it.

- Bright light settings for such a basic price. The battery life is actually a shocker for me. The medium setting spot light will easily get you 5+ hours of use on a full charge. The lantern light at medium goes well over the 6 hour mark on a full charge. Great for emergencies or camping.

- Charges your phone via USB-to-micro plug. Pair this with the solar panel charging and you have yourself a great emergency unit here for keeping your phone up when everything else has gone down.

- Bright glow-in-the-dark ring inside the LED bezel. Holds a glow for a couple hours after charging. This wasn't even an advertised feature, but I found it after letting the unit charge in the sun all day for the first time. A great feature for when you need to find the light -- assuming it's not face down as a standing light -- in the dark.

- The cutting blade and the glass hammer are fabulous. I didn't expect them to be as durable as they are. I used the cutting blade to slice through quite a few different things and it went through like butter.

- The magnet is more powerful than I expected. It will easily hold the light to a metal wall (I used it on the fridge) or the underside of the hood of your car.

CONS -

- My only concern is that I am not sure how many times the 2000mAh battery can be recharged and once it's dead, so is the light. You can't pull it out and replace it. So in that regard the light is somewhat disposable, but for the price that's not really a bad thing.

- I would have preferred a but more direct control over the lighting modes. Having to cycle between the three settings for the spot to get to the strobe was a little underwhelming since I am used to most of my lights with the strobe feature being designed for defense. Having to click three times to get to this setting would negate that. Though using the strobe for emergency signal works fine.

NEUTRAL -

- The compass, as with many cheaper compasses, sticks in its housing and doesn't float very well in the suspension fluid. You need to give it a good shake or a few taps to really get it to settle in. But this isn't a compass one would use for in-depth navigation. It servers it's purpose for emergencies just to get a basic bearing and for that I couldn't take any points away.

OVERALL:

Great light, great price, great tool. So good, in fact, that I had to purchase a second one as a gift. If you're looking for a solar-powered, LED flashlight that can also charge your phone and function as a multi-tool for emergencies, look no further. Grab this light now.

Great flashlight, I have gone through a ton of new led flashlights for work. I was slow to transition from streamlight halogens and the traditional duty belt equipment. I have bought the cheap $4 focusing single AA battery flashlight and the $18.99 fist sized goofy 168224 battery whatever and i have bought the super 3000 lumen triple beam search light for $115 and this solar flashlight has been the all round best so far. I can leave it on the dash of my vic all day to charge while I am sleeping and by the evening when I am starting work it is charged and ready to go.

It is bright and well built. I have missed my case numerous times and dropped it from hip to the ground face and butt first. Shockingly it didnt break the compass. I used the window spike a few times and it worked as expected, I have used all of the functions tons of times. The red flasher and white work light are handy as hell. I ticked off a couple of troopers when I plugged my work phone into the flashlight to charge, they were so jealous I loved it.

Good flashlight, every vehicle should have one safely mounted inside.

I've used this for a month or so, and I'm quite happy with it. It seems to hold a charge well and recharges through the USB cord quickly. I bought this as a home flashlight, not a survival tool, so the glass breaker and seatbelt blade were simply in the way--but easily, quickly, and neatly removable. I can stick them back on if I decide to move the light to my car.

The light provided is very bright and white, so there's no orange tint if you're trying to work by flashlight (think "fuse box"?). The magnet to allow it to be put in place to work, and the switch operation are good. It has a spiffy lanyard that's gotta be good for something, but I haven't figured quite what. And the compass? Just what I need to navigate from my bed to the bathroom in the middle of the night!

All in all, a really nice flashlight.

I have some of the motion activated night lights on my stairs by OxyLED and have had them for about 6 months and they work awesome, so I thought I would check this out. it has a ton of features, I forgot to mention in the video that not only does it charge off a micro USB you can use it as an emergency batter if need be for a phone. The light is nice and bright, my dogs were barking last light when I was working in my office and this happened to be on my desk so I grabbed it to go investigate, I have a big backyard, about 70 yards door to the back fence and this was able to show great.

The features are really designed for this to be kept in a car with the belt cutter, compass and safety glass hammer but you could use it for other things if you wanted to. My daughter wants to steal it, she things it is cool. :)
