How did you come up with the idea for this product?
I saw my daughters obsessing over their smart devices, engaging in passive, solitary experiences where they were scrolling and swiping to nowhere. So, I set out to build an ecosystem that would inspire kids to create and collaborate with robots.
What makes your product special?
Ozobots’ two ways to code make our robots the perfect companions for future artists, engineers, and entrepreneurs. Our Color Codes are patented and offer the only way to start coding screen-free for kids as young as 6. From there, our OzoBlockly visual programming language challenges and engages kids as they build career-boosting skills.
What has been the best part of your startup experience?
The best part has been building a company with a focus on social impact. Our mission is what drives us and makes Ozobot an inspiring place to work. It has also helped attract our team: a diverse crew of designers, developers, and lifelong learners. Together, they embody my belief that tech skills alone don’t inspire big ideas—creative visions do
