I found this book very inspiring to read, having had many 'problem' horses myself to re school over the years, it was nice to draw some parallels with some of the things Elaine went through with Ozzie. Having been there myself I could especially identify with the story of Ozzie not wanting to be caught in the driving rain, helped me to sympathise with her and the struggles she faced as I have been there but she also tells the reader exactly how she dealt with it. Always smiling and trying to figure out 'why?' and how she could approach the problem in a logical manner.
I found that the greatest thing about this book is that it was informative without being condescending. I loved the fact that there were little 'irish-isms' in there and you can hear the great passion that Elaine has through her writing. What is especially apparent, is how she articulates the drive to want to make the world a better place for the likes of Ozzie and other horses. She should be immensely proud of her writings and also of the wonderful Ozzie.
10 out of 10!
I would absolutely recommend that anyone, young or old read this book. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I hope to see a training manual courtesy of Elaine very soon!
She did a hell of a job with Ozzie, and she taught me how to work with our two big boys. Through her I got more confidence and more horsy knowledge. This book is a lovely read about her journey with Ozzie, and the other way around. There is a lot to learn from this book.
