I did enjoy reading this book about a real life P-51 that sure enough showed up in some nameless person's garage. It was actually an F-6, the photo recconaisance version, which is exceedingly rare. It was decided to restore it as closely as possible to its wartime configuration, which was made easier by the fact that most of the military hardware was still there! It was the first Mustang to receive this treatment, and the photographs show the steps that were taken in this full restoration. The late Mustang Ace Robin Olds visited the hangar and proclaimed this the most authentic restoration he had ever seen. This book is highly reccomended for warbird fans and model builders.

Great story on the restoration of a P-51 Mustang found in a garage in Ballwin,Missouri. A painstaking move from Ballwin,Missouri to Danville, Illinois where the total restoration process was completed to win the Grand Championship at Oshkosh,Wisconson. This is a must read for any P-51 Mustang lover! Fantastic photo's from beginning to end!
