About the Author

Diane Falanga, a mother of two, was inspired to put this book together after receiving her eight-year-old daughter's hilarious letters home from camp. After sharing her story with a number of friends, and sending e-mails across the country she was able to gather a few hundred laugh-out-loud letters for this collection. She is an interior designer and founder of the Heart Homes Initiative of Designs for Dignity (a not-for-profit providing furniture for those in need). Diane lives on Chicago's North Shore.

Honestly, I'm a HUGE fan of 'Found' items and compilations like this but this is the least funny of the ones I have read. I prefer Mortified or the above mentioned Found for LOL value. However, this would be an amusing part of a care package to camp or in the bathroom for a read.

This book is hilarious...having sent my own daughter to camp for several years, I can relate to it. Its funny, pithy and rings true to what a mother can get in those letters. As I rarely do, I laughed out loud when I ready this one. Its a quick fun read, and its a great book to read WITH your kids BEFORE they go to camp to get everyone ready for the journey. Thanks to the author for pulling together such a clever grouping of letters for all of us to enjoy! LB

I enjoyed most of the letters in this book, but if you are reading it on a Kindle, some of the pages are unreadable due to contrast or some other issue. That made it, overall, a disappointing reading experience.

My husband and I loved this book. We laughed so hard because we "knew" these kids. We had experienced the camp letters for several years with our oldest daughter. This book made us dig out those old letters from her and read them over and enjoy them anew. Being a teenager now, none of these seemed funny to her. I will keep her letters with the book and, years from now when she sends her own kids off to camp, I will give her the whole bundle. I am sure then she will appreciate them more from a different perspective.

Not good on my black and white kindle because the book has no text; it is all copies of letters so graphics. Not good on my kindle fire. Good on my iphone though. The letters themselves are amusing.

I purchased this book as a parent-to-be hoping for some good laughs. I was disappointed that the content wasn't as funny as I had hoped. It was cute, but not enough for me to even finish the book.

In its defense, part of the problem was that this content is NOT very compatible on the Kindle. Many of the letters were difficult to read because of the size or font. So the challenge of trying to read it added to my disappointment.

Don't expect P.S. I Hate it Here to ever find a permanent spot on your bookshelf. After reading it yourself (this will most likely involve stopping frequently to read your favorite passages to anyone who happens to be nearby), you will end up passing it on to friends and family members, then buying another copy to keep on your coffee table. You will want everyone you know to experience the matter-of-fact hilarity of this book. While I would certainly recommend this to anyone who plans on sending their child to camp next summer, a connection to summer camp isn't at all necessary to enjoy this book immensely. If you have a sense of humor, you will love it. I hope there is a P.S. I (Still) Hate it Here in the works!
