I couldn't put my kindle down!! This book had me hooked before the first chapter ended.
Maritza and Isaiah meet by chance and strike up a friendship of sorts. Maritza isn't looking for a relationship and Isaiah is shipping out in a week. Which starts a week of Saturday's, where they spend time doing silly fun things. But both of them are starting to feel something, but neither wants to admit it out loud.
When Isaiah leaves they agree to write letters. Honestly my favorite part in the book.
But out of nowhere the letters stop and Maritza is devastated. Will these 2 get a second chance or will drama and lies get in the way?
Everything about this book was amazing. Maritza is a strong women who you'll respect and love because of her honestly and humor. Isaiah is tough to crack, but you just want to hug him and slap him all at the same time.

And if you still doubt that this is a great book...let me tell you a little something...I received an advanced reader copy and I still bought the book. Buy it now, you won't regret it.

Fatal Attraction?

So here's another case of the synopsis being great, but the full story falling flat.
I liked the Maritza we got in the first few pages, she was so normal. What we get after that is a pushy, you're going to love me or I'm going to boil your bunny in a pot crazy person. Who falls for a guy that is being a jerk to you?!
The girl pushed herself on this guy, she got pissed of he didn't want to spend his every day before deployment with just her.
The way she was with other men, she was like a cat playing with a mouse on a string, but got pissed at them for expecting more?!
Isaiah, he was bitter and needed a wake up call. He was Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde with Maritza, he claimed he didn't want her but kept coming back.
So maybe crazy was his brand of perfect.
I didn't see any connection between these two, barely even a legit friendship.
Here's where I'm going to be extremely critical, the military parts. At the point they meet he's been in about 8 years, he would be a Sgt. by then, not corporal, after another 4 years he should be staring at a rank of Staff Sgt, if you're still a Cpl you would not be in.
Deployment length, Afghanistan is a one year deployment not six months. And how was he coming back to L.A. after every one? There isn't an Army base in that immediate area.
His injury, he was in his barracks packing his belongings after, not in an immediate coma like he said. He also would have been medically discharged if his injuries were as bad as he said.
So many inconsistencies in this.

Winter Renshaw is one of my favorite authors and I have read almost all her books. She does not disappoint with this book as she has a way of drawing in the readers into the story and bonding them to the characters. As the story unfolds I am caught up in the emotions and mindset of Maritza and Isaiah and could not put the book down getting up in the middle of the night and reading until I was done. This author is so good at developing the characters and even though I thought I knew how things would happen.....I didn't. Thank you Winter Renshaw for yet another great story. I highly recommend this book!

Winter Renshaw is quickly becoming an automatic one-click author for me and it's really not that difficult to figure out why, her stories are addicting! P.S. I loved this book, loved the uniqueness of the setting, the military man and the waitress, the "Saturday's" spent together getting to know each other. The characters are easy to connect with and even easier to love but it was the letters that just captured my heart and gave this journey even more FEELS.

P.S. I Hate You is the first book I read by Winter Renshaw. As soon as I read the blurb I had to read it. I'm so glad I did because I found Maritza quite humorous when she's around Isaiah who's normally quiet and grumpy but she gets it out of him eventually LOL. After spending several Saturdays as friends they development feelings for one another without letting the other know until it's time for him to leave. He doesn't want to make promises because he's afraid he'll hurt her. They continue their friendship by writing letters to one another with one of them not liking what they read. Will they admit to how they really feel or is it too late? I don't want to give too much away. I loved it!

Hate is Just the Flip Side of Love....and Love Always Wins

Such complex and well written characters. I loved Isaiah and his tortured soul. He really had himself believing that being alone was the best course of action for his life. He used a cold and uncaring attitude to keep people out and to protect his heart. Maritza is a loving, caring, accepting person that sees and believes the good in everyone, except Isaiah. Fate keeps pushing them together and the journey they take to their HEA is emotional and inspiring. I don't know how anyone could say this book wasn't well written or the characters well developed. I love Winter Renshaw stories. But I have to say that this one is my all time favorite. I just really loved these real life like characters. No rich people here, just hard working regular people. I felt like I knew them and was a friend, like Rachel, watching from the side lines and cheering them on to find the love for each other. While I did receive an ARC of this book for my honest review, I loved it so much I bought it. I highly recommend that you "one-click" this one and start reading.

First, I don't think I have ever had an author include TWO ADDITIONAL novels with a new release so I found that very exciting. Plus, this is my first book from Winter.

The book was not at all what I thought it was going to be from the blurb. I won't spoil but the plot was awesome and the wee twist was a WTF moment.

Both are likable characters and a bit odd in there own way. The way they slowly became friends was sweet and yet they both kept their distance. Then .... he leaves.

I really enjoyed the book and the tease at the end for the cousins book.
