First impression:
I was a bit bummed out that the P20 was a tad too narrow for my tastes. (Think Samsung Galaxy-style.) It was just a bit narrower than my Sony Xperia Z5 and slightly taller. After booting it up I then saw the screen light up and was impressed. Copying my phone over to the P20 was easy as pie.
EMUI is different, but I like it. I felt the same way about the notch too. I quickly switched over to my usual Nova Launcher setup and went on my way.
I bought the phone because of the price and cameras and I have not been let down. I've been comparing photos taken with this and my coworkers' iPhone X and they've all been impressed with the results of the P20's cameras.
I purchased mine from Mobiles International LLC and am pleased with my purchase. It came with charger, USB-C cable, USB-C earbuds, USB-C to 3.5mm aux jack connector, and a Huawei clear slim-fit TPU case.
I would definitely recommend this phone to anyone looking for a top performing camera-phone.
(Previous phones: Nexus 6 > Xperia Z5 > Nexus 6P.)
But after spending 4 hours with AT&T technician, we eventually gave up on it. It only works on 3G data. No 4G data service from AT&T at all.
The production description is misleading. Return on second day and totally waste of my time.

The good:
Price: I picked up my phone for only $440. When you compare it spec-wise to other phones released at the same time, the price is very competitive. A Galaxy S8 only comes in a 64GB for about the same price variant and a 128GB variant of the S9, Pixel 3 and OnePlus 6T all come in at $650+. This is essentially thee cheapest new phone you can get with this amount of storage and comparable processing power.
Performance: This phone is almost instant with every task I have performed so far. The fingerprint scanner is basically instant and most apps load within a few seconds at most. Even when running Android auto with multiple applications running, the interface through the car is very responsive.
On T-Mobile the signal so far has been very good and I have had no issues with download speeds or signal strength, even out in the middle of nowhere.
The screen looks amazing.
The bad:
This is not a standard android experience. It Has the play store however that's about it. The stock launcher feels like it is missing a ton of features and I had to replace it with the NOVA launcher. Everything needs a Huawei account to use it, almost nothing uses your Google account.
The phone comes pre-installed with a dozen random games that you probably don't want.
Every single Huawei app required you agree to data mining, even the default "news" app and file browser. You also cannot uninstall most of these apps normally. I spent over 2 hours using adb and developer mode to disable most of these applications however I expect some may "come back" after a system update. I am surprised the flashlight app doesn't prompt you to agree to some terms and service. If you google around you can find a full command list to uninstall most of this bloatware.
You cannot unlock the bootloader.
Huawei is facing a potential ban of all sale of their products within the US due to allegations that the hardware chips have built-in spyware. While this isn't AS much of a concern for me, I hope that the chinese intelligence agent looking at my data likes all the furry porn, this may be a big concern for those who are privacy conscious.
The meh:
No headphone jack, though it does include a usb-c headphones.
Adaptor is for the UK. While there is a travel adapter vacuum-sealed to the box, it is a very low quality adapter. for long term use you may wish to consider either installing british outlets in your home or source about any other usb-c charger setup.

El único contra que veo es que no acepta memoria externa para expandir.
Sin embargo para usos promedio es suficientemente buena la capacidad de memoria, altamente recomendado.
