I liked this board so much I bought another for my brother. It's a huge improvement over his MSI board.
And for the same money.
He's running Vista Home and I'm running 7 Ultimate
I couldn't get it to take XP pro w sp1.
Blue screen with XP.

Started right up.
I tried 2 high end boards and bought this as a last resort for my 775 quad core and am very pleased.
There's an operating system issue but not a major one.
It requires Vista or higher or the lovely blue screen of death rears it's ugly head.(Bios crash)
I installed windows Vista with no problem then installed my win 7 ultimate upgrade.
I tried 3 versions of XP as well as windows 98 without success but vista or newer will work. I read online that win xp with service pack 2 will work but can't verify.
This is a stable board I added an Nvidia 9400gt low end graphics card and made major improvements in game lag.
This will get more life out of my 775 quad core until I upgrade.
Very pleased with this board.

I bought this board to replace my old faithful Asrock 4core1600twins which had finally bit the dust and to get a little more life out of my Intel Core processor. I was forced to upgrade from DDR2 to DDR3 for this board (not a bad thing) but other than that, I was able to use all of my current fans, drives, and video card (gtx 260, soon to be replaced with a gtx 650ti). This board Posted without issue on first boot, and operating system booted on first try as well. I had a 500gb sata hard drive with Windows XP/32bit(soon to upgrade to windows 7 to get use of my full 8gb ram) installed on it. It worked with this board without issue, despite so many reviewers of this board claiming Windows XP/32bit is not compatible. All of my programs and games worked fine on the new system as well. For $69.00 (new without original packaging from Amazon) this board was an inexpensive way for me to get 2-3 more years out of my processor. VERY PLEASED

This motherboard works. It's been functioning without error for about two weeks, so there's a fair chance it won't die for awhile.

I salvaged a Q9550, which is a great, capable CPU compared to buying a new one from the current batch. It still gives a "7.3 rating" in Windows 7 for whatever that's worth. The full LGA 775 boards have mostly vanished from the market but these micro ones still do the job. And they're cheap. This has a good layout. Its four SATA slots are at the bottom, all accessible with a large GPU.

Packing a Big Punch for a few Dollars

The ASUS board arrived quickly, packed perfectly and dropped right into my mid ATX tower and worked like a charm. It's a little crowded, but a lot, a lot of mobo for the money with the expected ASUS quality. I couldn't be happier. I did not bother with on-board video, but had my own old very capable Nvidia GTX 260 graphics card and it immediately worked to expectations. I have not hooked up speakers yet, but will use the built-in audio. If there was one tiny quibble, I would have liked a color template for the back panel, but that's almost a non-issue. In spite of a few people who had problems with DOA boards, there was no question in my mind that ASUS does not send boards out that way, and that there must have been some other issues involved there. I'd say this was one huge bang for a few bucks. Well done, ASUS!

I bought this to utilize hardware from a previous build I had and to save as much money as possible. for $50, it was a great deal.

Initial set up and install of everything wasn't bad. SATA cables are tight if you have a big GPU, which is understandable with a mATX booard.

If you have a big GPU, only plan on utilizing one of the PCI slots.

I did overclock the CPU using the build in automatic OC option in the bios. the system would only stay stable with a 15% overclock no matter which compatible CPU I used (I tried four different CPU, can't recall which ones, as I use old parts to fix pc's for friends and family for fun).

6 months and 8 days to the day I first installed, my PC just shut off. Mother Board went, so I bought an ASRock G41-S3, and that seems to be working great for the first 2 hours on a $40 replacement board.

Had the motherboard not died on me, it would most definitely be a 4-4.5 star board for the price and being able to use my IDE DVD drives, and my old LGA 775 intel CPU's.

I purchased this board to make a simple pc for my gf. It ended up only using ddr3 .. I guess I didn't read it well and now im using it instead of her. She's got my old and its running like a champ like all asus motherboards. I only buy asus and I will die with asus. Great board at a great price for the 755 chipset.

UPDATE: I bought this in 2012 and its now 2016 and this board is still running strong.. Its not worth 200$ but if you want a reliable board thats going to last over time this is the one to get.. I will be upgrading my PC this year so it will be passed down to someone in the family so they can enjoy years of reliable pc fun.
