Editorial Reviews

Review

"Robert Garcia is a vigilante known as Paladine, and in this well-written and fast-paced thriller, the author demonstrates skill not only with plot, but with character -- and character is what makes this book stand out. An ill-fated love story and an irresistible dog only deepen what could be just another hit-man-killing-jihadists story." --Publisher's Weekly, Booklife Prize in Fiction

"Kenneth Eade has started a series that proves to be intriguing and exciting. Eade's protagonist is fierce and everything readers have come to expect from an assassin but Eade adds his own spin on an old idea. The story is captivating and will have readers riveted. "Paladine", although well written, can be somewhat confusing if readers are not well-versed in the world of suspense thrillers and terrorist ideals. Kenneth Eade has created a world in which readers will be anxious to find out what happens next in the life of Robert Garcia." Ind Tale Magazine on 2017 RONE Award Nominee, "Paladine"

"A sharp, intelligent and unsentimental thriller about the consequences of the War on Terror, that basks in Kenneth Eade's encyclopaedic knowledge of current affairs. In Robert Garcia, readers are given an anti-hero in the vein of Jack Reacher, but with far more moral complexity. Paladine has as much entertainment value as most novels in the genre, but delivers a truckload of substance along with it." Best Thrillers

"A satisfyingly original, compelling piece that moves well beyond genre writing and into the realm of military precision, insight, and adventure, linking action into modern-day pursuits and concerns with the precision of a surgeon. Highly recommended reading for anyone looking for a protagonist and purpose that goes the extra mile, and then keeps on running." Midwest Book Review

"Said once and said again, Kenneth Eade is one of our strongest thriller writers on the scene and the fact that he draws his stories from the contemporary philosophical landscape is very much to his credit.   Another top-flight novel from the master of intrigue - one of his best. Kenneth Eade obviously is just becoming our go-to man for thrillers. Highly recommended."Grady Harp, Amazon Hall of Fame, Top 100 and Vine Voice

From the Author

Thanks to all who have read and enjoyed Paladine and have shared your comments.  This book was great fun to write and it is so good to hear your thoughts about it.  If you're a fan of David Baldacci, Vince Flynn, Brad Thor or Lee Child, this is the book for you.

"I thought I was reading a Lee Child or John Grisham book. Move over, Jack Reacher, you finally have a rival." John Mellor, UK

"Jack Reacher, and Jason Bourne have company as the top badasses!!" Amazon Customer

"Two books by Kenneth Eade; this book: Paladine and a 2nd book in the series: Paladine Russian Holiday. Both books are complete stories and stand on their own, however, I strongly recommend reading both books. Paladine, Robert Garcia, is former Special Ops and now retired military whose duty to and love for country, however; cannot retire as long as there are terrorists killing innocents in the USA and around the world. This is a faced paced thriller that is difficult to put down once the story begins. Although it is a fictional story and Garcia a fictional character, it incorporates here and now events and people that give the book a sense of being very real. I look forward to the 3rd book of this series but having become a Kenneth Eade fan, I have just ordered the first 3 Brent Marks books. In my experience it is best not to begin an Eade book late in the day because once one starts reading, his books are very hard to put down."Libby Hume

"I am a retired police chief but also retired from DoD Agency which provided assistance and inspection for Defense Contractors. I also worked for a contractor and government agent for several several different agencies. After retiring I worked part time as a police and fire Commissioner and Police volunteer until I became disabled in 2014. As you can see with by my background you should see that I read fiction as pure fiction knowing in the real world there are obstacles that limits pure fiction. "Paladine" by Kenneth Eade is very interesting in its continued action and gives a certain plausibility to the fiction that makes it enjoyable."Jim Provenza

"A well written book current with the major problems in our country today. The characters are believable and the storyline kept my interest level high. I look forward to reading the next book if this is a series. Kenneth Eade is a new author for me. This is the second book I have read and I enjoyed it more than the first. I believe I picked it up after seeing a positive comment from Lee Child, one of my favorite authors. This is a Good Read."Cindy

"This grabbed my attention on the second page. This book takes so many turns. The characters come to life, and you cannot even fathom the ending. Be prepared, you cannot put this down once you start." G. Swinney

"I have long been a fan of David Baldacci, Jack Higgins, and especially Lee Child, but it seems to me that Eade is right up there with those guys."  Harry Wertheimer

"One of the best thrillers I've read in a while. It grabs your attention, right from the start and brings you through curves and twists, but helps you understand all that is going on along the way." Amy Bright

"If you are a fan of the "good guy assassin" books, you'll want to read this one. Great story line, well developed characters and written in the current world climate. The author keeps the story moving and drops enough current headlines in to make this book feel extremely factual. The author stays away from "superhero" "super human" skills or feats and keeps the exploits believable yet entertaining. I'll definitely be following this newly discovered author and this character."Skip
"A great book that I really enjoyed. This book is an exciting read and very well written. Mr Eade is a darned good writer and I have just bought my next book from him.Mr Eade has certainly earned his place on my list of favorite writers. I buy a lot of books from Amazon and most of the so called thriller writers are not. Mr Eade is the real deal for me." Stewart Rothwell, UK

"I really enjoyed this book. I love mysteries and Eade makes you aware of what is really happening in our world." R.K. Stone

"This is a new character for this author and what is hoped to be just the first of many with Paladine. I found the book informative, interesting and worthwhile reading. I recommend this book highly. My impression is that this story was well researched and understood the complexities of how government officials could react."
  W.R. Jongejan, Netherlands
