I loved these games when they first came out and wanted to relive the experience. The price seemed fair so I ordered the set. There's only one problem and it's a huge, annoying one. As with the original releases, the game requires that you answer a few questions before the game will start. The first 5 questions attempt to find out if the player is over 18. They shouldn't present any problem for most people. But the 6th question is to find out if you've actually purchased the game or are using an illegal copy. Answering this question requires that you have the pamphlet that came with the original game. This pamphlet is not included in the new packaging. There is a copy of this pamphlet on the CD but it's a black and white PDF. Since many of the questions ask about the color of something in the pamphlet, this question can't be answered so you have to restart the game and keep trying until you get a question without a reference to color.

All of the games require the emulation of DOSBox. Not bad.

The nice thing is that I managed to download OS X version of DOSBox and played the games on my MacBook.

Für mich ist es sehr witzig, Larry wieder durch seine Abenteuer zu leiten, auch weil ich dies zusammen mit meinem Sohn machen kann, der neben den High-End-Spielen der heutigen Zeit gerne auch diese alten Klassiker ausgräbt.

Die "Installation" (eigentlich ist es nur ein Entpacken auf die Festplatte) lief unter Win7-Home-64bit nicht 'mal eben', sondern nur mit Tricks. Gut ist aber, dass ich das gesamte Inhaltsverzeichnis problemlos auf einen USB-Stick verschieben konnte und damit eine portable Version voliegt, die ich immer mal zwischendurch auch an anderen Rechnern verwenden kann.

Noch ein Tipp:
Die mitgelieferten Anleitungen in pdf-Form (für die damals üblichen Abfragen bei Programmstart) sind von so schlechter Qualität, dass man z.B. bei "LSL 2 - Goes Looking for Love" kaum erkennen kann, welche Frau da abgebildet ist und welche Telefonnmmer eingegeben werden muss. Hier bietet es sich an, entsprechende Screenshots aus dem Internet zu besorgen. Dies gilt ebenso bei den 80er-Jahre-USA-Fragen/Antworten zum Alterscheck in "LSL 1 - In the Land of the Lounge Lizards"... usw.
